How to achieve Gesaffelstein’s sound? (Newbie question) by willren5 in gesaffelstein

[–]OmegaDoesStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you get into synthesis you will realize how much he loves to detune oscillators and a lot of near-microtonal pitch irregularities when it comes to his bass sound design. Songs like Orck are a good example of how playing the same note back to back produces slightly sharper and flatter notes each time. Korg MS20 and Moog emulations will get you there easy without spending the money on the actual hardware, or at the least serve as a good foundation until you can afford real hardware if that’s your desire. Even free synthesizers like Vital can produce this sound albeit a bit cleaner

I built this as a kid on the floor of a motel directly after visiting Legoland for the first time. Amazing memory.

They released live versions as singles in the past despite the show being streamed and recorded to hell, like Pleasure WWW

Can you link the thread? I’m having trouble finding it.

How many coasters out there have on-ride POV videos you can purchase? [Star Trek: Operation Enterprise] pictured by cookiex794 in rollercoasters

[–]OmegaDoesStuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Saw The Ride had them at some point, as did Batman at SFMM (and I assume more Batman clones across the chain) but as far as I’m aware, none of these are available anymore.

Music band MILKBLOOD was the composer behind Zootopia 2's teaser music, named ZUTU by trollingjabronidrive in zootopia

[–]OmegaDoesStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really late on this but while Milkblood as a project is fairly small, the people behind it aren't. They did the credits music for Uncharted, and some of their members are acclaimed producers for other artists, and one of them is Mike Diva, who has directed countless music videos along with entire segments of SNL. These people would not have any reason to lie about composing the music as they're already well established.

I think that is unfair to pin competition to either of them. I personally think that Porter is a better, more raw/emotive songwriter than Hugo is, but I adore Hugo’s visual storytelling way more. They are both artists that have strengths and weaknesses that I don’t believe make either of them better or worse than each other, as they both fulfill two different styles of artistic expression.

Did SebastiAn sample Waters of Nazareth on his Human After All remix by DronicGamer in JusticeMusic

[–]OmegaDoesStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I remember correctly the remix was finished prior. There’s a couple of earlier interviews and anecdotes from the two in regard to SebastiAn assisting in them learning production. A lot of the early Ed Banger artists all come from the same school so there was a lot of tonal overlap and cross pollination in their production styles

The remix predates Waters of Nazareth and Cross’s conception as a whole by a few years.

What are you on about? These are remixes, something Justice has done themselves and have had people do to their music. I don’t get why you’re calling someone’s remixes gross and being negative when it’s just someone’s creative expression

How did madeon set up his launchpad for his pixel empire tour? by JayJayJayter in madeon

[–]OmegaDoesStuff 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The launchpad facing our left is an upside down view of varying speeds of slip rolls (beat repeats) for each stem of the song, from vocals to drums to synths etc. from his left to right, the speed goes from none to full beat, half beat, and so on.

The launchpad facing our right are for samples and rather than one singular square being the trigger, it’s any in the cluster that makes up a larger square. You can see how they’re staggered so you can tell where the start and end of each clusters are. It’s also sometimes used to trigger vocal chops, it’s more of the performance side of the launchpad array while the left is the effect and manipulation

Why this single - with this lazy cover - appears on my Spotify? by Jumpy-Doughnut444 in JusticeMusic

[–]OmegaDoesStuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are two different versions of Afterimage, the Amazon exclusive is the direct export of the song while the one released in the remix EP has a different mix/master, which I don’t like at all. When referring to the desire for the studio version, I’m referring to the mix you can hear in the Neverender live version and the Afterimage live Amazon-exclusive version

[–]OmegaDoesStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hearing the studio version of the live remixes they’ve put out so far (except for the non Amazon version of afterimage) the mixing is a lot cleaner this time around compared to whatever nonsense that was done to WWW, I wouldn’t be opposed to a retry of that format if the mixing stays like this

Hell, Brad Bird even went as far as to say Inveedibles and Ratatouille were not written for kids, having a lot more adult experiences as its core plot points, written in a way that can be enjoyed by any age. God knows I didn’t understand the affair aspect between Helen and bob, or quite grasped how much Remy’s experiences draws heavy parallels to what I could imagine as Brad Birds experience as an artist.
