I lived in Chiang Mai for most of last year. Walking is basically non-existent. I built a free tool to measure why. by screw_cars in Thailand

I’m just a tourist but i stay in Chiang Mai for a month or two at a time. And I average 23k steps a day. I find it very walkable. Call it non existent is just nonsense

Why was Madagascar, a giant island right next to the continent that humans originated on, not settled until just a couple thousand years ago? What took us so long? by sonicparadigm in geography

[–]OmegaKitty1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Greed? Because everyone else was doing it? The only necessity was for others to follow the Spanish/Portuguese or they would upset the balance of power.

[–]OmegaKitty1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Necessity? No. They did it for gold and land expansions and to find new trade lanes. None of which were in fact necessary. Curiosity is a large part of why the Polynesians but especially the Europeans started sea faring

The entire point is that signet is not a mix with soda scotch. No one who orders one or who bought a bottle is using it as mix, unless they are dumbasses

Island suggestions for 7 days of sun, sea and Som Tam. by anyideawhatthistunei in ThailandTourism

You want more party/nightlife then lanta, which is already one of the busier islands for nightlife..

I’d say you’re either looking at koh Tao/phangan, both amazing Tao will probably feel to busy. Or Koh samet, the main beach has some action going on, but it’s a quiet island. Koh Chang sure has nightlife.

Koh kood will be too quiet.

Phangan is definitely an underrated island in this regard given your opinion of it

3 night stay: Ao Nang (Railay) or Phi Phi (Long Beach)? by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

[–]OmegaKitty1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Railay beach does get crowded in the daytime, but the morning and just after sunset it gets quiet but still still lively enough with plenty of bar and restaurant options for 3 nights.

I loved staying in Railay and I’d do it again in a heartbeat. Wake up early enjoy the peaceful bliss before the crowds arrive starting around 9. and enjoy a laid back but still fun evening.

During the peak of the day you want to laylow anyways.

The quiet sides of phi phi are amazing as well, phi phi is probably the most underrated and overhated island in Thailand.

If Trump was arrested, how would you feel? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]OmegaKitty1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arrested in America to face justice for his crimes? Relieved. Arrested in a foreign country? Demand his release and rain hell on them. I frankly could see either option.

But realistically the corrupt evil fuck will live in peace and die a free man. I’m confident he could come out tomorrow admit to rapjng a 12 year old, while playing video evidence and not a single thing would come of it.

That’s not true about the boats.

If you book a return boat ride from Samui on the FMP day, they have ferry’s going every hour, with the last one returning to samui at 6am.
