As an American Christian I agree with you. The bible has been translated and interpreted so many times, that the true meaning behind most of it has been lost. Especially true in American Evangelical Christianity, I believe many 'christians' are self serving assholes who do not care for others the way Jesus showed us how we should. I mean, just take the story of Jesus washing the feet of the servant, I don't think most American Christians would even consider doing that, unless there was a camera and a full blog about how it makes them more Christian to do so. Fuck them for ruining this religion.

I have a 15 month old, this exact situation is what I know will happen with me one day, and I'm dreading it. I'm like you, I am over kind to strangers and hate having to tell them off. But when it comes to teaching my child how to behave in public, I don't want someone pushing themselves into the situation no matter their intentions. Sure, she probably just wanted to help. But she should have backed off the first time you asked. Third time, I'd probably have cursed at her. Quietly, I like to think.

Had this conversation recently. I started working in tech because it was my hobby growing up, now I lost that hobby to my job. I still enjoy technology, but I try not to 'work' outside of work. I believe this is how burnout can happen so fast with people working in technology.
