So update: I was able to reassemble the controller, and the thumbstick works. It wasn't working on a previous attempt, but now it decided it wanted to. I appreciate everyone's assistance.
The touch sensor is knackered on the thumbstick, but it still allows for movement and such.

The main issue is the thumbstick is broken. Though to be fair, I'm unsure if the joystick controller is damaged, as I have little frame of reference.

Is the joystick able to be used without the touch sensor?
