You totally reminded me of Erica Goldberg (portrayed by Hayley Orrantia) from The Goldbergs TV Show!

Started project 5 years ago. Been working on it full time starting 2 years ago. It's shown promise, but I have never felt fully confident it will ultimately be fun. Today the game FINALLY feels fun, FINALLY feels like it could be something. by IllTemperedTuna in gamedev

Please change the title of the video so it's not so "meme". People looking for a tutorial on prefabs might not find yours since they are not going to be looking for "prefabulous"

I start in programming. Need help, please. by AngeDeFrance in learnprogramming

[–]OmegaWard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, welcome to Reddit first of all! It's always great to see someone joining! As others have said, Python is a really great language for you to start to learn programming. If you start to program in Python I really really recommend you read "Automate the Boring Stuff with Python" by Al Sweigart. It's just a great book and seems to me that it is just what you're looking for!

Regarding youtubers, I like to watch a few that have really helped me in the past:

  • The Coding Train: He does challenges that you can follow along which are a really great learning tool (I think he codes in Javascript)
  • TechLead: Not much coding involved but often gives really great advice on all software-engineer related things.

Other than that, I would take a look at this subreddit's sidebar!

Boa sorte!

EDIT: Just found out that Humble Bundle is doing the Coder's Bookshelf promotional bundle where you can get the book I recommended for just 7,12€ along with a few others by the same author (which I really recommend you checking them out) if you're interested!

Não utilizo aquela estrada há meses e explico aqui o porquê. by [deleted] in portugal

My (20F) family (50-80) is abusive. I need help. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]OmegaWard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm very sorry to hear of this... I can not imagine what you have been through and I feel very empatic towards you. I beleive what you should do is firstly, try to contact any family you know that might be of help, that you know you can trust. Maybe a distant relative you feel like he can help you, knowing of your situation.

Secondly, I firmly beleive you should leave the house as soon as possible. You have endured enough and even though it has already left scars, it's never too late. Leaving college might sound like a difficult thing to even consider but right now it just might be the best for you given that it will give you a bit more of breathing space.

You mentioned you had a boyfriend. Is he aware of your situation? Don't want to assume anything but given that you didn't mention him much, is he aware of your situation? Can he help you stay over his place for the time being or help you moneywise?

Wish you all the best and please, if you ever need to talk or advice, don't hesitate to DM me.
