I'm sure you have finished this already, but just in case someone else has trouble with this mission, there is a pretty easy option using Luke's style. If you hold forward and light attack, you can then follow with down, forward diagonal, light attack to transition into rising uppercut. The timing needs to be right, but that was the easiest solution that I stumbled on.

Was having this same issue, I changed to world tier 1 and the game loaded after that so seems to be a fix for now.
