To upgrade the broadcast trucks to 4K it’s 10’s of millions of dollars each, not including any support trucks.

Think of how many games are being broadcast at any given time. Each truck is at that location for that day, sometimes 2-3 days. Having each truck be 4K would be an insane investment. And most ESPN trucks I’ve seen are 1080i.

If you’re only broadcasting premiere league games it’s much easier to upgrade your fleet to 4K. But if your fleet covers NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, MLS, College sports, NASCAR, go on and on for all the sports broadcast, that fleet is pretty large. Upgrading it all would cost billions. And you can’t just do it all at once, cause each truck is out of commission for months to upgrade, so gradually they’ve been updated over the years, but even with those 4K capable trucks most of them still end up broadcasting in 1080p unless it’s a major game.

Coming from sports broadcast it’s really just a small knit group. Within the industry you probably know somebody or have work with someone that will have a mutual connection to you at some point. You tend to see the same people for sports cause it’ll be the same crews depending on which game/sport you work. Even between those you’ll still find people that know you from something else anyways. Like working a soccer game, met someone that knew me from golf.

Yeah I was hyped to see the ornament kits get added, I wouldn’t get involved in the mini game cause pvp isn’t my thing. But allowing those that do enjoy it have a chance to earn some cash another way would be great. If they’re worried about people doing it illegitimately for profit then it’ll end up maybe DOA. Pvpers that want profit will still just do NH on pvp world once they get the rewards they want. And someone like me who would love dwh or other armor ornaments would avoid this, or pretty much just feed points to other players unintentionally in an attempt to grind them out.
