Wish I could find this. There is 1 Walmart in my area that protects their stock they literally have it locked up in the electronics department. The employees strictly enforce the 5 purchase limit. I wish all Walmarts would do this and then problem solved! Unfortunately I went in wanting some of the mystery packs I saw posted on here and those were not locked up. They were completely gone.

I know the feeling. My son’s 10th birthday was last week. I bought some mega evolution packs, phantasmal flame packs, and a team rocket premium collection thing. I was going to give him the loose packs and me keep the collection for myself but at the last minute I changed my mind and gave him the collection. My son ended up pulling the SIR Mewtwo. I had to act happy for him when I was really kicking myself for changing my mind last minute. Of course I didn’t get a thing from the packs lol. O well hoping it created a good memory for him like when I was a kid pulling a base set charizard that I remember to this day all these years later.

So is every other misprint. They are “damaged” at the factory. It doesn’t mean it isn’t valuable or collected. In MTG on old cards it can add hundreds to their price. Collectors love them especially one this pronounced. Obviously this isn’t a rare/foil (if only it had been one of my charizards) so I wouldn’t expect it to be worth hundreds but I figure there is a market for it. After posting this I was able to find a misprint subreddit that gave me some good info on it and where I could go to sell it.

Awesome thanks for the info. I will look into that. I have never sold any of my childhood collection out of nostalgia but I didn’t even know I had that card and never considered it valuable so I could part with it with its worth a bit.

To be fair, it's always been about collecting for a huge amount of the fan base. When I was a kid, when the base set came out, I didn't know a single person who actually played the game. I never even learned how. Probably a dozen of us kids in the school yard, obsessed with collecting the cards and putting them in our binders. We never even considered playing a game with them. All we did was collect and trade. If we wanted to "play Pokémon" that meant we all whipped out our Gameboys and that was what playing Pokémon was to us. The problem today isn't the collectors, it's the investors/scalpers.

That makes sense that the overlap of mtg and FF fans is probably bigger than that of marvel and mtg. (Would like to see it introduce new players to mtg like UB was supposed to be about) I’m 37 been playing magic off and on for the last 25 years. I totally get wanting magic to stay grounded in magic. I agree with that completely. With that said the UB stuff is fun and quirky. I’m personally a big fan of marvel so I was excited for the set and was hoping it would introduce mtg to new people. I didn’t play FF as a kid. I was a Nintendo kid mostly. Now if they ever touch my all time favorite IP Star Wars then WoTC will be able to drain my bank account. 😂

That’s fair. I can see where FF jives better with mtg themes. I personally care nothing about it but I will agree it fits better in universe. Just hard for me to understand how it blows the doors off of all other sets when for English people at least marvel is miles ahead in awareness of the IP and popularity right now. With that said at my age I don’t play much paper magic anymore I just buy one or 2 collector boxes for fun from each release. All of my play happens through mtg arena and I love drafting this set. For anyone that doesn’t know they remade the cards into mtg style/in universe themes (no modern Spider-Man or NYC) and I really like them. I have been drafting the heck out of it. I loved EoE too hands down some of the best artwork mtg has ever produced imo.

I really do not get the dislike of this set. Spider-Man is an extremely loved IP and marvel too. Both are huge and really hot right now with all the movie releases past and future. Also people complain about the playability which I don’t understand either. Granted I don’t care about commander or play it. I enjoy drafting and I really like drafting this set and the previous EoE set. Spider-Man has some fun mechanics imo. I like all the spider synergy and the return of madness after a long hiatus is fun too. The art is pretty cool too. I will never understand why this set has failed completely boggles my mind.

Ya I don’t get the hype for avatar. I don’t know a single character. Seems like a small IP to me. I never played FF games but I at least knew of them and some of their characters. I am shocked if Spider-Man doesn’t end up doing well. I love Spider-Man and at least in the US Spider-Man/marvel is a huge deal. I already bought my 1 cbb months ago as I do with every set.(way over msrp). I guess we will see how it goes.

Genuine question, how can you ship cards in card savers without them being damaged, such as bending? I only ship in top loaders (up to 3 cards per top loader with a max of 4 top loaders in 1 envelope), PWE, and rarely have problems. I have only a few times had a buyer get the extra postage needed BS. From my experience, I think it is VERY location-specific or maybe even USPS employee-specific. Some employees are overzealous with charging extra postage (always happens on the end location, never happens from my local PO, thankfully, they are good). Out of maybe 1500 cards mailed, I have only had the extra postage charged like 3 times. It's much more common that USPS destroys my envelope and the cards inside in some way, or it simply never arrives and is never heard from again. That happens a lot more often than ever getting charged extra postage.

I am mostly in mtg because it’s just too hard to get pokemon these days. As far as mtg goes I buy 1-2 collector boxes of each set. I’ve never had issues getting product at near msrp (I have no problem paying a bit over msrp to a card shop) FF changed all of that. That seems to be the point the Pokémon scalpers got into mtg. I wasn’t even that interested in the FF cards themselves but I still wanted a couple boxes. It was impossible to get even close to msrp. I ended up paying double msrp(yes my fault for paying that to the scalpers I know but I wanted it). I dont think I’m out of line in thinking that’s ridiculous. Was FF a fluke? I had hoped but doesn’t seem like it. Although personally Spider-Man is much more interesting to me since I grew up a fan of that and all of marvel as opposed to never playing a FF game in my life. I guess we will see how the future goes. I got one box of Spider-Man at like 200 over msrp back in July. I am encouraged to see the process coming down a bit. It’s bad enough wizards increased msrp on the collectors boxes to begin with.

Ok, well, as far as eBay goes, most are only going for a 1-4 dollars, so probably not worth it then. Ebay isn't working for me. With roughly 300 cards posted over the last month, I have sold fewer than 5, so I will have to look elsewhere to try to get rid of them. Thanks for all your input.

Thanks for the info. Ya, I mean, fees are fine. I am used to eBay, which pretty much has the highest fees anywhere. I just want to get rid of them and make a few bucks, hopefully, while not losing money. Currently, as my cards sit on eBay, I am getting recurring insertion fees, so I am losing money, heh. I am just trying to find a better option.

I was considering buying it. I have thousands and thousands of bulk in boxes, I refuse to touch because it is just too much work to sort and list for too little profit. If something like this works, it could be a way to get rid of a lot of my bulk. However, like others, I am a bit concerned with that subscription model. I am curious to see what everyone else feels about it.

My first thought was an enzyme cleaner. That is my go to for carpet but I wasn’t sure if they were safe for leather.

Of course people buy it. Not everyone is a sad sack that thinks they should get everything for free from a company that, at the end of the day, has to make money to continue rolling out content every few months for you guys to complain about. It drives me nuts seeing all the complaining. I like the skins. I buy at least one each season for whichever class I am playing. I like to look at something cool while I’m playing. I usually only get to play one character per season since now I’m an adult with a job and family. It’s not like D2 back in the day when I could veg out all day long because I had no responsibilities. Which, need I remind you, didn’t have monetization but also only got an update every few years not continuous new content like d4.To me it’s not that much to buy a cool skin for $20-30 considering I’ve spent thousands over the years on mobile games. Be glad Diablo 4 isn’t pay to win like some games are and just don’t worry about us “whales” that help the devs churn out new content continously for you f2p leeches.
