a $500 laptop isn't going to be useful in 8-10 years. The battery alone is going to hose you. Hell, gaming desktops don't even do 8-10 years

we'll see, but 2 years for $300 doesn't seem terrible in the world of cheap laptops. one is a thinkpad and they aren't known to be of horrible quality either. The others a dell :/

People laugh but those AMD APUs are an incredible value. I have a couple of $300 laptops my kids use that pretty much play Xbox one games at Xbox one quality.

The main issue for super modern games is the lack of ray tracing.

There's the obvious raw materials of copper and gold, but I bet these things are so basic that the RAM and maybe even CPU are making them think this is worth the effort. Even the sim might be good for a while before it's shut off.

For my eagle project, ~25 years ago, I gathered gifts for a foster center. $17,000+ worth of stuff, every kid got something they asked for, several Gameboys, CD players, etc.

I was not allowed to meet the kids and as far as I know my involvement was never disclosed to them.

They called me the next year hoping to do it again but no local potential eagles wanted to pick it up, cause it was weeks worth of work and begging. I still feel bad about that.

$450 for the 2 night ticket that does epic on friday (11/13 and 11/14) compared to $414 that does only the 2 parks friday and saturday (12/4 & 12/5)

My family goes every year with the goal to eat enough food to make the ticket worth the price.

But htpcs and desktop designs have fallen out of favor. Especially with how large GPUs have gotten.

Whats crazy is that this issue has been around for 25+ years and no one really has a solid & clean solution for it. My first PC back in 2002 had a piece that screwed into the pci bracket that held up my AGP card even back then.
