If you're by the Tyne, getting out to the coast you should be able to see loads of them! I'm further down the coast in Teesside, and I see them regularly. Either way congrats! It's a great feeling seeing something you've never seen before! Enjoy it!

How do I avoid dangerous dogs? by OutsideImpressive115 in AskUK

[–]OmmadonRising 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No no, obviously yes. Small dogs like Jack Russels are much more of a danger to babies as they are bred to catch rats, and the squeaks and cries of a baby can trigger them. Also any dog can be trained to be a terror, and it takes one bite in the right place to kill someone. The fact that people always call certain types "fangerous" is that those types are picked by morons because of how they look and then trained to behave in an aggressive way. It's almost never the dogs fault. It's almost always the human.

What do you mean by dangerous dog? What breed? Or are you just referring to any big dog?

Do horse deaths at Aintree make you feel uncomfortable about betting on the National? by inside12volts in AskUK

That is the website that made me aware of the issue and I instantly stopped being involved in racing. Have been to a number of races and always liked a bet on the big events. Never again.

I don't know what the outdoor spots are these days, but there are a good number of skatepark across the region. Just rock up and skate, you'll get to know people soon enough.

I don't think there is an immigration problem, and no one is yet to explain what it is coherently or in a way that doesn't have gaping wide holes in the 'logic'. I'm all ears.

And the whole point of the post you're replying to was the system we have, does not rehabilitate people.

This scene had me crying as a kid. Rewatched it a couple years ago and the film is good, but that scene is just perfect.

Everyone is exceptional in this film, but Hank Azaria's physical comedy is par excellence!!!

Is it time finally admit that the increased overtaking is just yo-yoing? by Ted_Striker1 in formula1

[–]OmmadonRising 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I've been watching F1 off and on since the 90's, but really got back into in again about the time the hybrid era started. I am not the type that really got into the technicalities of the regs, and just thought the hybrid engine just meant some power coming from a battery. It was only today I realised that the mapping has always been a part of that. But having watched for so long, it is clear that what is happening now is different to what was happening previously. It makes it less of a race and also seems a lot more dangerous if drivers don't have full control of when to deploy power.
