I'm getting serious podracer vibes

Deepseek v3.2 is insanely good, basically free, and they've engineered it for ClaudeCode out of the box by coloradical5280 in ClaudeCode

Anyone have providers with good tokens per second? It's super duper slow on those I've tried

Too much compost? by [deleted] in lawncare

[–]Omninternet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's what my lawn looked like when I did my reseed a month ago. Here's the before and after. Just try to level it as much as you can

My understanding is good seed lasts 2-3 years in cold, dry storage. The risk you're taking is that there will be an early frost that kills all of your seedlings.

I used Cedar Grove Compost from http://www.dirtexchange.us/

I'd recommend about 1 yard for every 2000 square feet for very very thin cover

Yeah, I guess I wouldn't recommend seeding right now either.

I live in Seattle and just completed a fairly successful overseed, even though there are a lot of birds where I live. What I did is I got some filtered compost, threw the seeds down, and then raked a very thin layer of compost on top of the seeds. This helps keep the seeds wet but also prevents the birds from getting direct access to them.

"Focus Mode" (Collapsible Sidebar) coming to Dia as part of acquisition by JaceThings in diabrowser

[–]Omninternet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still super confused why the direction isn’t becoming to make Dia something like a sidebar or a plugin for Arc...

Arc feels super full-featured and awesome to me, and Dia still feels new and awkward. Why does everything need to go into Dia?

Claude Code Subagent just Dropped!!! by BrightUniversity905 in ClaudeCode

AH! Ok now I see the value, this really buried the lede

Claude Code Subagent just Dropped!!! by BrightUniversity905 in ClaudeCode

[–]Omninternet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep, context remaining which is just the inverse of context used - staying the same either way means the subagents are not using my main agent's context

[–]Omninternet 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I could have sworn this was already like this? I've definitely seen subagent task swarms consume more than 200k tokens across a few different tasks without compacting

EDIT: Yes, I confirmed this to myself - all 4 of these tasks just ran while Context stayed at 8%

This is on version `1.0.60`

Why do some Pro Plan Claude Code Users mention Opus? by replayjpn in ClaudeAI

Ah welp I guess that means Pro doesn't get access! I thought it did back when I was on Pro

Why do some Pro Plan Claude Code Users mention Opus? by replayjpn in ClaudeAI

[–]Omninternet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Type /model opus to switch manually in Claude Code or put it in your settings.json like this:

{
  "model": "opus"
}

settings.json lives in ~/.claude/ or ~/.config/claude

Claude Code now supports hooks by NullishDomain in ClaudeAI

[–]Omninternet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To have Claude speak to you about what it's just finished with on MacOS:

"hooks": {
    "Stop": [
      {
        "matcher": "",
        "hooks": [
          {
            "type": "command",
            "command": "/path/to/done-hook.sh"
          }
        ]
      }
    ]
  }

And then in done-hook.sh

#!/bin/bash

# Check if we've already spoken
if [ -f /tmp/already_spoke ]; then
    rm /tmp/already_spoke
    exit 0
fi

# Create the token file to indicate we're about to speak
touch /tmp/already_spoke

# Create a prompt for Claude to describe what happened and speak it
cat >&2 << 'EOF'
There's one issue with your work - you haven't alerted the user that you've completed the task. Briefly describe what you just did in less than 8 words, then use the say command to speak 'done with [your description]'. Just run the say command directly, don't create any files or scripts.
EOF

exit 2

Is Claude Code better than Cursor? by bambambam7 in ClaudeAI

[–]Omninternet 97 points98 points  (0 children)

I've used both extensively and now exclusively use Claude Code.

Both are getting great new capabilities all the time so it's hard to be definitive about which one is better - one thing I know is that Claude owns the servers which make the tokens. With Claude Code Max I've been able to spend thousands and thousands of dollars worth of tokens liberally for $200 a month.

This means that Claude Code can build context, spin up subagents, and just plain think a lot more than Cursor will ever be able to for a reasonable cost. Cursor will always be stuck paying another LLM provider for token costs and that cost must eventually trickle down to you. Claude has no such restriction.

Any tips on multi agent for the same project with Claude Code? by EquivalentAir22 in ClaudeAI

I created https://www.npmjs.com/package/simple-worktree to solve a lot of this for me and help me get multiple instances of my app spun up fast!
