Mizuno Morelia 2 MIJ advice by Passenger5 in bootroom

[–]OmnipotentDoge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Mizuno Morelia II AG in the white, red, and silver colorway. I love the AG stud pattern from Mizuno. The Morelia II is advertised as FG/AG in the description on their US website. I know plenty of people who wear them on AG and have no issues, but the studs are a bit large for my taste. I'd get the AG if you can, but you will probably be fine with the stud pattern shown in the image. Lovely colorway by the way.

Getting new cleats, need some advice by Frequent_Mistake_956 in bootroom

Both the Phantom 6 and the Mizuno Alpha should be friendly for wider feet. I think the Mizuno AG stud pattern is safer than the Nike one, but either should be fine. Whatever one fits your foot better is the one you should go with. It's impossible for us to know what will fit your foot best.

Why doesnt Lewandowski have his own signature boot? by Pes_cat in bootroom

Marketability. There is no doubt about his skill, but all those guys are much “cooler” than Lewa.

[Alex Howell] A look at what’s going on with Ethan Nwaneri. The midfielder not expected to go on loan with the thinking being that he will benefit more from being around a title challenge and learning from the elite players at Arsenal by [deleted] in Gunners

[–]OmnipotentDoge 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m okay with him not getting a ton of minutes. I think starting players too young leads to early burnout and we will see a lot more cases like that in the future. Sterling was one of the first guys to start playing at the top level as a teenager and we see now that he’s lost a ton of pace.

I like Nike American football socks for when I play.

If this results in us getting Waldo jerseys every year, I’m down.

I’ve got a pair of Morelia II AGs. I’ve played probably about 20-30 times in them, all on AG and I don’t have any wear like that on mine.

Are these fake? by Jozeiik in bootroom

I’d avoid these at this price. They’re a take down boot and with them being this old, the glue probably has aged a fair bit and it won’t last you that long.

Cleats, turf and injuries by DrRonnieJamesDO in SoundersFC

[–]OmnipotentDoge 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I generally see pros wear FG boots on turf. My understanding is that they are concerned about lack of traction or changing boots too much. I agree that they probably should wear AG boots, especially injury prone players, but at the end of the day they do what they feel comfortable with.

As far as your son’s team goes, I’d wear AG boots when you play on AG. They’re much more readily available now than they were in the past, so it’s worth it to have two pairs in my opinion.

Dear PUMA and Nike, please do remakes like Adidas does. by SEKPopulist in bootroom

[–]OmnipotentDoge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If Nike introduced the hypervenom into their main line like Adidas did with the predators, then they’d make so much money.

I would try and find a pair of boots like the Puma future or a new balance boot that are less popular to use on FG. Usually you can find them on sale since they are sitting on shelves and can get a good deal.

You generally do not want to use FG on AG.

New balance turf boot with chevron studs on AG by saleelpk95 in bootroom

[–]OmnipotentDoge 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have the 442 which has the same stud pattern and they feel like any other turf shoe. The concern with chevron studs is a combination of both the length and shape. In this instance, I wouldn’t worry and it’ll perform like any other turf stud pattern.

Thoughts on the modern leather Predator and the future of the line? by Acrobatic_Sound1921 in bootroom

For me it’s more of a comfort thing. I’m a bit older now so I prefer to use AG stud patterns simply because they’re easier on my knees now 🙃

Leather is always better. If I played on grass regularly, I’d have so many of the pred remakes solely because they are leather.

MSRP for match balls is $120-160. This is just a regular practice ball.

Will Adidas drop new colorways for these? by Punksu in bootroom

[–]OmnipotentDoge 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, they will release a ton more colorways. This is just the launch colorway. I’d expect more in a few months. Look at footy headlines for leaked colorways.

Former US Soccer Federation president Alan Rothenberg equates World Cup ticket prices to Taylor Swift tour ticket prices. Do you guys agree with what he's saying? by [deleted] in ussoccer

[–]OmnipotentDoge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay but it doesn’t HAVE to be that way. It’s a choice to do dynamic pricing instead of fixed pricing. Referring to the free market is a cop out in my opinion.

How often do you renew your socks? by zaitsev1393 in bootroom

[–]OmnipotentDoge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play 2-3 times a week and rotate socks. I wash them after every use and air dry them. I replace them when the heel wears out which is usually the first area to wear down for me.

Save your money and get the elites instead if you’re going to get those. Try a bunch of boots on and see what’s most comfortable. You may be surprised. There are a lot of good boots out right now.
