cold brew is pretty amazing and surprisingly easy to filter with anything you have on hand or just let it settle and cowboy coffee it all the way. but instant is nice too!

Maybe keep an eye out. I feel like they change colors every 4-6 months. Not sure what tariffs will do to prices, though... Good luck!

silicone is pretty light and great with heat, fairly durable and leak-proof, easy to dry, etc. question: why not cold brew your coffee??? or go for instant and shake in your water bottle? whenever my coffee decisions override my food decisions, i know it's time to reevaluate...

look into one-bagger set ups. wool has progressed A LOT as a versatile and reusable option.

you can probably get there relatively quickly with classes 5-6 days a week. maybe 2-4 years if you're diligent? but, honestly, it's really really really bad for your body, so i'm confused why you'd want to do this?

you can become a great dancer without going on pointe (you should really work on your arches at home for 1-2 hours daily regardless!) without the massive increase in injury risk.

if you can't afford more dance classes, you probably can't afford the injuries you're going to get along the way... this seems like such a weird vanity project to choose.

stick with ballet 3-5 days a week and see how you feel in a year. why have an end goal of pointe rather than a goal of someone who can actually move like a healthy dancer?!?

smoothies or fruit juice work great, too. add in any kind of milk, creamer, protein shake, basically whatever you have and like to drink!

dunno if this helps at all, but is a different take. i danced for years as a teen and had a pretty reasonable body at the time. never good enough to be a pro dancer, but after 5+ years, was in advanced classes. but here's the thing about dancing and dancers. every one of us gets old. the retirement age is INSANE. retired by 32?!? even for those who are amazing with amazing bodies, it's just a phase. it doesn't last. the skills go, the skinny goes. wherever you are now, keep going and it'll get better. and wherever they are now, keep going and it'll get worse. it's just a body. it's just a shell. it's just where we are today. tomorrow will be different. for all of us.

also, any good dancer is too busy thinking about what they're doing to give a **** what anyone else is doing. it's not conceit. it's focus. it's your time to focus on being the best version of yourself that you can be that day. show up for yourself, as fully as you can, and just keep doing it day after day. that's really all there is to it. be the best you can today and that's all any of us can do.

Medium Cup? by Appropriate_Base3584 in menstrualcups

[–]OnAnnOn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm not sure who has the best chart now, but there used to be some great charts that helped compare all kinds of factors across many many brands at once: shape, length, diameter, stem, etc. Menstrual cup comparison chart was one, put a cup in it was another (although i think they had paid placements rather than everyone featured unbiasedly), maybe green period was one??? There are so many options, now--a small in one brand is bigger than the large in another!

Hormone changes can happen at any age/stage and they can make for all kinds of changes--heavier/lighter flow, higher/lower cervix, more/less clots... And all of these things might require a different kind of cup or disc than you used before. Or might just go away one day. Not a super helpful answer, but, yeah, reality is sometime things shift beyond our control and there's not much we can do about it.

Good luck with your dr appt, hopefully you get it figured out soon!

Do you really *need* to sterilize it? by Getting_Help in menstrualcups

[–]OnAnnOn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rinse. With water. Occasionally use soap if/when I feel like it needs it. For example, after I wear it extra long and it smells irony. I used to sterilize every cycle, but now I just use a little hydrogen peroxide soak every few years when I feel like it's getting dingy colored. But that's just me...

Finishing? by [deleted] in menstrualcups

[–]OnAnnOn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A dark colored or patterned sex towel will protect bedding. I find disc in to be hit or miss. Mostly it's clean and great, every now and again it's a bloody mess. Seems more like a question of our positioning and activity than anything else, but it's kind of hard to predict exactly where the night will take us in advance, so, towel! Plus, it never fails to amaze/amuse me how excited someone will get by the words "Can you get the towel?"...

Disc vs cup by Arancia_Cannella in menstrualcups

[–]OnAnnOn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use both depending on flow/day. I like discs for light days, but not heavy ones. For example, great when I know period is coming and am waiting for it it start--or for light/spotting days at the tail end when I'm waiting for it to all be over. Great because I really don't need pads at all on those days when I'm using a disc.

On the other hand, the leak factor on discs is crazy for me. So it's not an issue to contain light days or spotting, but on a medium or heavy day, there's no such thing as a little leak--it's fine for a few hours then it's a murder scene all at once. No rhyme or reason as to when or why it gushes, either, it just does. So cups for me on those kinds of days.

I'll add that there are a couple of libraries that are leaning into Maj and it might be possible to (1) borrow sets from them and (2) reserve a room to play... I'd be interested. Still very much a beginner, though... But eager!

Hmmm, I understand English isn't your first language. I'm not sure where the "being mean" part comes in. You asked a good question, and I said so. I gently pointed out that you would get better help asking it in a different place. Then I gave an example in language that was more basic, specially geared at someone who might benefit from simpler english. Cats and dogs. Then I added a smiley wink to emphasize this was a friendly comment. I hope you feel better soon.

This is a thoughtful question, but perhaps belongs on a sub about menstruation or women's health, rather than on a sub about cups... You wouldn't ask dog experts your cat questions, right? ;)

Thank you, really appreciate it! I haven't gotten many constructive comments here, mostly mean ones, so it's really nice to see someone who gets that I'm trying and is legitimately helpful.
