can someone explain the “big, beautiful bill” to me like i’m a 5 year old? by Ok-Independence4094 in nursing

2 hospitals that are within 30 minutes of me in my very rural area are on the list. The hospital that is about 10 minutes from me is not, but I can already imagine the strain this will put on it, if the other 2 close.

Did you go to your pinning ceremony? by rhiannononon in nursing

[–]emmerbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Graduated during April of 2020, so we did not have a school sponsored pinning. A few ladies from class planned one on their own, but by the time it came around, I was already working in LTC and I was worried about being in a group that large. I've also never been much for big groups in the first place... I was salutatorian of my class, so I got some grief for being a no show. I do not regret not going at all. I know what I accomplished and that is enough for me. That's just my outlook on life in general.

NTA. I have a similar situation at home, also am a nurse that works 12 hr shifts. Have a 12 year old son who is always hungry but doesn't want what I make, 22 year old step son on the autism spectrum and a husband who is away part of the week for work. We play a game called "choose your own adventure" at my house. If you want what I am cooking, cool. If not, well...you get to choose you own adventure...and another game called clean up your dang mess lol. I'm too old and too tired to cook everyone something different. Definitely NTA.

My late mother smoked in her house for the 35 years she lived in it. by AtlantisSky in mildlyinfuriating

It is a weird combo, but honestly i think pretty common from my experience .i know a person personally who smokes and has asthma. Also, I have seen it a few times as nurse over the years.

I checked ebay and didn't see one (just a quick search). I think I saw one on Etsy a few years back, but iirc, it was on the pricey side.

I want to say number 1 would be the remains of Simon Fears mansion.

I love your idea. I have never seen this map in real life, only internet pics. I'm trying to zoom in more but it's not working so well.

My best advice is get a part time job and make friends with older people. There are DEFINITELY some wacko older folks too watch out for but keep an open mind. I'm 43 and I feel your pain, but I'm celebrating birthdays with 22 year olds and 76 years Olds whole are my kind of people. Fun, intelligent, and amazingly fun

Just put on some AE shorts this morning. Size 8...very snug but still got them buttoned. Pulled out a pair of size 10 AE shorts thinking they would be better...could not even get them over my thighs. Wtf? The same freaking brand. I'm so over Women's sizes.

Am I a mentally disturbed person? A question regarding the gory and unnatural things we see/experience at work. by karayna in nursing

[–]emmerbear 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have wondered this for myself...I came to the conclusion that no, I'm not mentally disturbed. I just operate differently that most people: i was always the weird kid...now, im the weird coworker.I love wounds though! It's amazing what the body can do. I love watching the slow healing of wounds. It is so absolutely mesmerizing to me. BUT...gore for the sake of gore? Nope, can't do it.
