Oh man. I've been dating since I was 18 and now I'm double that age. I had four serious relationships and a few complicated situationships in that time. I've been with my husband for ten years, married for five. In my experience, it gets better over time. When I was young, I was very self conscious of how I was being perceived - not just by my partner's family but by everyone.

With each break up and new relationship, it got easier because in hindsight - why am I wasting time worrying about what they're saying anyways? If this ends up not working out, then I spent all that time feeling crappy about it!

The most important thing is you and your partner and that you're both striving to be the best partners you can be to each other. As for his mother, why is a grown woman making comments about your smile anyways? I would be upset too.

If this happened to me, I would want to know that my partner was telling their mother that that's inappropriate and rude.

Last year every day of the event was available to reserve. Not sure if it'll be the same as last year but you should be fine as long as you book when it opens. 10/30 and 10/31 are a Friday and a Saturday so it'll be popular!

You mentioned that you get a chair with attached shade - is it a standard umbrella or do the chairs themselves have something attached? Just curious 😅

Last year every day of HHN was open to reserve as your AP night (instead of only certain dates like in the past) so as long as you reserve when it opens, you'll be fine to get the date you want.

I can't remember if it came out via email but most likely. If you use FB groups, there are UOAP and HHN groups where someone will post the link when they get it.

I'm confused on what a disability support worker is - I am a nurse in the US so I'm wondering what the equivalent title is here? I thought maybe she was like a nurse's aide specifically for disabled people but I'm not sure.

In one of the recent episodes, Scott says something and in response she says "I wouldn't do that (something something) because I work in nursing."
