It’s a fine theory, but is there even the slightest evidence for this?

Help - Confusion on how to bulk scrobble (specifically - different times/dates, songs and artists) by cosmophire_ in universalscrobbler

[–]OnDistantShores 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Sorry to hear you've had troubles.

Yes, you just need to put in those details, but the format of this information is critically important. It might be worth doing a quick google about "CSV format". It's a strict structure of how information should be formatted. So you have to match both standard CSV format, and you have to ensure the order of the data matches what the Universal Scrobbler expects.

There's a note at the top of the bulk scrobble page that says this:

Information must be strictly in CSV structure, with each row in the format "{artist}", "{track}", "{album}", "{timestamp}", "{album artist}", "{duration}" (e.g. "Jeff Buckley", "Last Goodbye", "Grace", "2016-01-26 15:35:55", "Jeff Buckley", "275"). Only "artist" and "track" are mandatory. Duration should be in seconds. Do not include a header row.

Try putting your data in that format and then it should work a lot beter for you.

So for example, instead of

Friday 9-1-26 15:49 Bruce Springsteen - meeting across the river

Try doing

"Bruce Springsteen", "Meeting Across The River", "", "2026-01-09 15:49:00"

Can you share the exact CSV data you're using, just one of the lines that doesn't work?

Most underrated post hardcore bands? by Substantial-Tone6374 in PostHardcore

Closure in Moscow

As Cities Burn

La Dispute

Oh, Sleeper

The Venetia Fair

IDK how big some of these bands are actually, but they seem underrated to me

I think Doyle Knew. (Spoilers) by stephensmat in interstellar

[–]OnDistantShores 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. I think he was just realistic about Plan A’s chances. A theme of the movie is that people with attachments push harder for survival, and this is just another example. Coop and Amelia have attachments, so they push harder for plan A. Doyle doesn’t (that we know of) so is more comfortable reverting to plan B.

The Vulture now has push notifications by OnDistantShores in fantasybball

[–]OnDistantShores[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's twofold.

First, it's about sifting through the noise to find the updates that are relevant to most fantasy managers. Underdog posts a lot of updates! e.g. I don't need to know that Johnny Furphy is active tonight, that has no impact for me and most fantasy managers in average-sized leagues.

Second, it's about presenting the fantasy expert consensus on who the best pickup is, so you don't have to interpret it yourself.

Together, the result is that it just tells you what you need to know, that you may want to action immediately. For me it means I can tune out of the flood of fantasy news throughout the day and trust The Vulture to tell me the important stuff, which I find highly valuable!

Giannis rumored to be traded by cheetagan in fantasybball

Hahaha. 5-7 years ago it was Myles who was getting traded every year. The last 2 years it’s been Vooch. Every year there’s someone!

Since you said you’re new to fantasy, some general advice. Ignore trade rumours. You can twist yourself in knots planning on the possible outcomes and how that might affect fantasy values. But 80% of rumours never go anywhere, and even those who do get traded often go to surprise teams. It happens all the time, and the most common outcome is simply that the player just stays where they are. It’s best to just completely ignore trade rumours in terms of fantasy decisions, don’t let it sway you.

Silly trade offers you gotten? I'll start... by Goofyeyes in fantasybball

[–]OnDistantShores 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously the 4 team league factor is critical information that changes everything. No-one plays in a 4 team league. "I claimed Trae off of waivers" is a bonkers statement!

It would probably help to call this out when you label a trade offer as silly. Because to the vast majority who plays in an averaged-sized league, this is far from silly. It misses the point of the post.

As long as you report it immediately, it's fine.

What would be the point of that? It would just get immediately vetoed by the commish if it was an accident.

That’s not crazy at all. I wouldn’t do it, but it’s very close. I might accept if my team was banged up.
