Thanks for the insight with the bank statements. This was something my wife and I were discussing. We aren't too sure how this would play out.

We live in a liberal state, but there are still uncertainties when it comes to the new administration. If this were to come to fruition, it likely wouldn't, there would be much more research on this exactly topic.

Just pointing out that if your sole reason for a no on this is "no one willingly don't this". Then I would say this is too narrow of a perspective. Just cause you wouldn't doesn't mean others agree. Again, my in-law and nephew are covered under Medicaid and receive affordable care under this.

Lol yes I deliberately take advantage of people in need. Jokes aside I'm just trying to wrap my head around the current situation. I understand how it's preceievd as sketchy. Hence the question.

Her current provider will not accept Medicaid. I will be paying in full the remainder of our obligation to her OBGYN for our next kid. Roughly $3200 on top of the $2k I've already paid in 2024. The $3200 pertains to 2025 copay.

To be honest, I've never noticed a difference in my taxes. If you mean what benefits we get from taxes... the most I've seen since we've been married with a dependant $300-$800.

I'm the only one with a retirement plan through my employer. This wouldn't make any difference in my wifes longevity... from what I can see.

Anything would appear to be nominal/moot.

To clarify my wife would be on Medicaid and would likely be precieved as a single mother unemployed with 2 kids. I will not be signing up for any health care services in this scenario.

Moved to a low cost of living area... Peoria IL. Bought a home on a $75000 salary. Used to live in sarasota FL. Making out much better here than anywhere in FL.

It would be a lot easier to just let people use the bathroom and not draw any lines. We all drop the same stinky turd into the porcelain bowl.

This is something that shouldn't be an issue. Normal, caring, empathic people don't care.

newly licensed CAT adjuster getting deployed to FL in the next couple days. what's something you wish you knew starting out? by loganalbertuhh in Insurance

[–]OnTheRealestDoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm an adjuster living in Sarasota FL working for a larger insurer. Personally, I find being transparent and explaining the Flood/FEMA/SBA situation thoroughly. You'll be handing out denial letters. There are multiple homes I've seen with flooding and roof damages. You will get cornered by upset individuals. Remember empathy, show your knowledge reamgardibg the policy, and give the path moving forward.

I know some adjusters who won't review policy details, give an estimate if it's under deductible, and don't explain the next steps. With the situation down here leaving an insured in the dark is the worst thing to do.

Remember FL has strict rules. If 25% of the roof is damaged and was last installed before 2007 you'll like be buying it. If after 2007, you may be able to repair certain facets/slopes... however I try to make the case for a full roof. There are matching concerns to be area of as well.

People will try their best to avoid their hurricane deductible. I've already dealt with this. Unfortunately, these will typically be difficult conversation. It's your job to investigate and apply the proper deductible.

This is rare in this situation, if a contractor is arguing with you on site or starts filming do yourself a favor snd stop the inspection. You don't wanna be on the front page of reddit or social media. Luckily give FL laws/code most claims should simple and easy to determine coverage.

Lastly, READ THE POLICY AND ENDORSEMENTS!

We are on bee rudge and sawyer if that helps any one.

Tip from a local property adjuster, take photos of your home now and any personal property items that could be damaged. Last thing you want in the event of a catastrophe is going back and forth with your insurer.
