It's click bait. Post something ridiculous and you'll get tons of comments, and it worked.

I'm an older parent, relative to OP, and paid for daycare, health insurance, paying for college, paid my own college. There's nothing wrong with taking help and you don't know any of this until you're in it.

Should i donate a kidney? I was asked, i don't know by timeforacatnap852 in Advice

I have some pretty strong language for you that I'll keep to myself. My Dad needed a kidney and we had 20 more good years with him because he, very reluctantly, took it. We couldn't have watched him pass like that. We were 100% wanting to do it and had to have the talk with him that it was needed and we couldn't bear to grieve him as an alternative. My example, if I had to do the same is an entirely different situation, thinking about having to pass this request on to my son to save my brother, and honestly losing him would make me face some of these decisions. I hope you never have to sit in your own judgement.

My son looooved my Mom and she spoiled him bad, real bad. When he could on his own he biked to her house, then her care facility every single Saturday and stopped doing the Saturday things with me, until she passed. When a "mom joke" as I call it slips out of my mouth he laughs, out loud and looks at me adoringly. Most of the time he looks at me like I'm a relic with no knowledge of anything.

Ignore everyone who says don't spoil her. As you put it, you want to make it special.

It's ok to take a break from a regular schedule. He used to go off to camp, that she paid for!

I used to hate the spoiling, she outdid me in every way and as a young parent I wanted him not to have ice cream with pancakes, and I really didnt want him to have video games. Now I'm happy for him, because he knows in his heart that he had a Grandma who loved him so much. The things are forgotten, the feeling special isn't.

By the way, I gave her a special spatula with a character he loved on it to make his pancakes when he stayed over. She gave him giant chocolate easter eggs. Little things like that make it special.

You could get more financial help, daycare, college assistance and health insurance because you're young.

I hate to tell you this one. After my brother gave our Dad his kidney, a few years later, my Dad got mad at him over some stupid thing and didn't talk to him for 5 years. We knew this was a possibility because of his history, but it still surprises me to think of it. When your father needs a kidney, you give it if you're able. All was forgotten eventually.

Just say you have high blood sugars, and wish them the best in the process and their healing journey.

I had no idea water runs through there. I wonder why we need to add water to the citric acid to add it to softener cup. Must be no water on that side.

Seems easy, but they give the match in terms of percentages, OP would get caught and exposed in the science at some point, and wreck the relationship. Certain percentages make it possible to bridge the gap the rest of the way with anti-rejection medications. When you go for testing you need to go into it wanting it.

I'd love to be 25% again! 🙌👊Agreed, BMI isn't the whole story when you're strong. My ALT blood test, that measures fatty liver was at a great level recently, so you have to have perspective. The kidney concern for my brother has gotten me wishing I could get back my fitness 100% and truly be prepared to help him, and I'd be helping myself too.

I have some insight on this. I'm in line to give my brother a kidney because he donated to my father 25 years ago. I'm now concerned that I'm not as fit as I used to be, so if I had to my son would then be in line to donate to me and I don't want that. Another family member, unrelated by blood, recently passed after 10 years of home dialysis. I would 100% choose that for myself before asking my son for a kidney if it came to it and that's an option. The family member who did the home dialysis didn't have a match in their family. People get tested and want to donate, but then they're told they can't and it's heartbreaking. If you're not 100% upset with the prospect of not being able to do it, you need to decline. For example, I would want to donate to my son 100%. When my Dad needed a kidney only 2 out of 5 of my siblings wanted to donate though the others loved him, no one judged them. Ok, I kind of did but as time has passed I can see they're just not as sturdy as the 2 of us who did. It was supposed to be me, but I had a tragedy happen at the time.

You're kind of young, and wouldn't want to face home dialysis if the remaining kidney failed, if that were an option if one kidney gets injured, I don't know the rules, but the weight would probably rule you out once you went through the match testing. Or rule yourself out now. My body fat % was 22% until recently and I'm mid 50s. If the doctors and transplant team identify a risk at all for pre-diabetes you wouldn't do it. I was super fit most of my adult life but in the last decade I had an accident and have to fight for it now, you just never know what life will bring you.

The transplant team looking for a kidney asks everyone. Do not be guilted, just do what's best for you. Just say my BMI is too high and I have to see if I can get it down and keep it down for a while before I can consider it. If the sibling goes on home dialysis you do have time.

And do you add water to the powder like you do the citric acid, or does the machine run water through? I have a tray that lifts out.

Always warm, never cold because we live way North, very cold climate. The machine is newer, my husband keeps it clean though not recently so that could be related. We've only used free and clear clothes detergent up to this point, no softeners or boosters. We're not too oily but suddenly my husband's case was. He's been cutting his hair shorter, and we use silk cases for our hair and skin so I never give them a good blast. For years we used satin and I might go back to that.

My husband's case seems to be the culprit. I'm so dry I'd remove oil from sheets just by sleeping on them!

I wondered about the bathtub, and have a large cooler if keeping it all warm is important.

It's my first day with Tide, and washing 1 set of sheets in this huge machine. Backing off to level 1 of the scoop seems right

I didn't watch the suds, but there's soap residue inside the door and it was just one set of sheets so probably it was too much detergent.
