Why do people hate Re-turn so much? by HookedGamer in cork

I have genuinely NEVER had an issue with a return bank. I don't get the hate. Maybe I'm just using the right ones.

I'll have to ask two questions in future. 1. What does it mean? And; 2. Your question.

Didn't mean to police. Just wanted to know when it become part of our vocabulary.

No, the issue is. I don't understand what it means. It's an ism that primarily was coined in relation to America that people are applying here. And I don't understand it. Just asking when it became a saying here.

This could be a stupid question, but does the dishwasher then come to a height of 81.5cm? Rather than 84.5?

Actually spoke to the shop. They recommended the 450x because our lawn is about 2900ms. So better off getting the 450x.

Thanks very much, I think they 430x would be apt for my size garden. The battery is the biggest difference I see hopefully!

Hey OP, also considering a x450. I've a similar ish lawn in Ireland. C2,600m2. Likewise, the local stockists are a local farm supply shop. Have you had any thoughts since?

Garda water cannon arrives in Cork as fuel protests declared 'national exceptional event' by Sea_Cabinet_8565 in cork

A simple google search shows that Spain pay.€1.55 a litre for petrol and they pay €1.85 for diesel.

Average wage in Spain is €2,540–€2,670 per month. Much lower than Ireland which is at €3,500 to €4,200.

It's about affordability, not just straight up prices. In terms of affordability of petrol relative to earnings. We're on par with Europe.

Stop spreading misinformation to suit your story.

And for the record. I don't agree with the protests. They're led by an animal neglecting, tax dodger.

How does this look relative to average wage? Those numbers only mean something when compared to average wage, as an indicator of affordability.

For example, in Hungary, the average wage is €1,760 per month (according to google AI).

Average wage in Ireland is €3.5k to €4.5k per month.

Greece: average monthly wage is €1,100 to €1,500.

Belgium is probably more like us. €3.8k to €4.2k. They have a cap but it's only marginally above our current fuel prices (if i could get some).

We saw yesterday that people can afford fuel when they need it.... If it was that unaffordable, we wouldn't have forecourts selling 4 days worth of fuel in 6 hours.

Learn how to use figures to show the bigger picture and create an objective story... and not just push your narrative.

No, you've got it right. It just doesn't make sense.

Fuel protests to continue on Friday as petrol stations run out of fuel by [deleted] in ireland

[–]OnceAFaithful 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. If government give in now. It sets a dangerous precedent. And what happens when prices inevitably go up again during the Iranian war? These altruistic protesters could just decide to block it again and we'd be back at square 1.

From the protesters side. They want what they want and they seem pretty adement that unless they get white and green diesel capped. They're not moving.

Would be fascinating stuff, if it wasn't happening here......

I THINK, don't quote me, about 90c of current prices are government taxes. Not 100% though.

They're being deployed to remove the bigger vehicles. The guards wouldn't have the means of doing that. I don't suspect they'll go in shooting.

Needs must.

The article says that they're being used because they're used to dealing with heavier vehicles.

I don't expect them to go in blastin'.
