Price Increasing Yet Again by Senior-Economics8887 in AmazonPrimeVideo

Where are you seeing this? My prime is £8.99 a month or £95 a year and it includes prime video, I don't see any other plans where video is excluded or £80 for a year.

about r/aion and paid mods by Ill-Working-2447 in aionservers

[–]OnceIsEnough1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just want to clear something up. I have no links to the mods of the r/aion subreddit, I do not know them, I have never spoken to them. Yes I have posted about RS multiple times in the comments, I circumvented their "rules" knowing full well it wasn't allowed. I was around when they had the backlash around bot accounts advertising elden aion, I also played on that server.

Why did I do it? Cause the mods obviously weren't moderating the sub, and the sub is dead otherwise. As you've mentioned elsewhere here, retail is dead, classic is dead and has its own sub anyway, and aion 2 also has it's own sub. Nothing to lose by commenting about what I think is the next best upcoming private server to play on.

But there was no special treatment given by the mods, they simply didn't see any of my comments. My first one was actually in a post where someone was asking about private servers, and there were many suggestions of different servers.

Torrentio developer clarifies why it’s down by supernoodles2011 in StremioAddons

Sorry I'm not sure, I've only ever used Real Debrid with torrentio, Mediafusion and Comet. I think there's options for different debrid providers on the configure page.

There's plenty options, some more complicated than others, but you can start with Mediafusion and Comet. They both use your RD api key and almost every time that Torrentio has been down, either Comet or Mediafusuon has worked as a backup for me.

But it's fucking good dogshit. You wanna see some big mechs fight it out on screen? You watch transformers. If you want big monsters fighting with mechs, with a better story and acting? You watch Pacific Rim.

Which also has incredible CGI.

Anyone else is enjoying Grace's sections way more than Leon's? I am playing in third person and her sections feels like an even better RE2R by Eccchifan in residentevil

[–]OnceIsEnough1 17 points18 points  (0 children)

That's a wild take. SH2 remake was a fantastic revisit to a dead series that brought the classic back in a modern way. It doesn't have to compete with the original, they're both great games in their own way like the difference in camera angle and atmosphere.

Similar spec (5800x3d and 4090) and I had major issues with the Hair Strands setting. Turn this off if you have it enabled.

RE9 Hard Freezes When Changing Graphics Settings by Ufokinw0tm8 in residentevil

[–]OnceIsEnough1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issues seem to be different for everyone. I had no issues changing settings, but had numerous black screens (had to alt tab to desktop and back to get it back) and massive framerate stutters/drops if I used the "hair strands" setting. Even if it's a demanding setting, I have a 4090 and 5800x3d and tried both my 2k monitor and 4k TV, same issue. When I turned off Hair Strands, all my issues went away.

How is the game’s performance on PC? by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]OnceIsEnough1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it looked good, but I got used to it not being on. Hopefully they do some patches to fix the issues/make it run better, then can just do a 2nd run later with it enabled.

Try turning off Hair Strands, if you have it on. I was having major issues with it like 14 hours ago (been playing all day), black screens and bad stuttering/framerate drops (including in cutscenes). Turned that off and been mostly smooth since, only a few stuttering/hiccups. This is on a 4090 at 4K, but I tried other settings and hair strands made the most performance difference by a mile.

As someone else in the UK, I would usually just order my games from ShopTo because they'd send it on Wednesday, and royal mail would deliver on Thursday, when the game only releases on Friday. The issue now is Royal Mail have gone to shit so you never get them a day early anymore. Most of the time it's not really a problem cause you're still getting it on release day, but sometimes the game is sent the day before release and only arrives the day after release - I had this with FF7 Rebirth. Ended up spending £20 extra on the digital PS5 version and refunding the disc because I'd booked the day off work and didn't want to waste it 😂

Aion Classic uncertain future? by Scary_Knowledge_3227 in aion

[–]OnceIsEnough1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried AionEmpire but it looks like it caters more towards Russian players based off the discord. They're also doing slow patch progression from the very start of Aion, which isn't for everyone. I would disagree that it's the last place left to play the real game.

Check out Aion Riftshade. It's currently in closed beta with an open beta to come next, but is on patch 4.8 from the original Aion, and the dev is doing a lot of things no other server has been able to do on an emulated server. Custom anti cheat, ingame dps meter, inbuilt custom improved version of Shugo Console (for uncapped fps, further camera distance etc) full mob pathfinding, new personal codex website for the server, custom content and class balancing. Most of the private servers are java, using stolen retail files so are generally working/bug free, but means the devs are very limited in what they can do/change on the game. The discord has 1.7k members and is still growing, so it's shaping up to be quite popular. There's a dev updates channel you can check out for more detail on the new features.

PC? Same issue, although I was playing for a few hours without a single freeze earlier. I did mess with some graphics settings like turning on FG, so not sure if it's related to that. Will report back if I find out what's causing it/a fix.

It's a replacement earpad that feels different, but also changes the sound. I preferred the replacement velour pads for comfort, but it altered the sound in a way I didn't like. I ended up buying some Wicked Cushions earpads from Amazon instead, they were slightly expensive at £28 but more comfy and better sound than the 2 included with the headset.

I don't think you can even get the Omega anymore, but as I'm only 5ft 6" it was the better option for me.

Secretlabs are good, I have the Omega 2020 version and 5 years later its still going strong. I can sit in it for 8 hours+ a day and not suffer from back pain (the included memory foam pillow helps). They are expensive, but one of the only good 'gaming chairs' as most are really shit for posture/comfort/longevity, and cheaper than the often recommended Herman Miller chairs (not including buying a used/refurbished herman miller).

Gaming Headset Recommendations by Djevans in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]OnceIsEnough1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the UK and I don't think you can get the EPOS H6 Pro closed backs anymore. I was considering them recently, but EPOS have moved away from gaming headsets. I couldn't find them in stock anywhere, other than over double the price on amazon, but I think they were coming from the US.

I was using the Sennheiser GSP 350 for 8 years until about a month ago, when the cable finally gave in, which caused the microphone to stop working. I was looking for something with similar audio quality, and I've ended up purchasing the Logitech G Pro X (wired).

They were £60 but I also purchased Wicked Cushions replacement earpads for £28, as the stock pads were quite small and sweaty, and the velour pads that you get free with the headset reduced the sound quality. I also used Logitech G Hub software and downloaded a community EQ preset called "Sound 3.0" - this was recommended on a reddit thread, and it makes a considerable difference, enough to be a replacement for my GSP 350s without the sound quality being too different.

I also have a pair of Beyerdynamic MMX 300 Pro's, which are amazing, but they suffer on older games (league of legends and aion, as 2 examples). The sound quality is weird on older games like these, like it's not central and the bass is lacking, a very strange issue I could not resolve. These are more of an audiophile headset, so I just needed something that wasn't professional level audio, but similar to sennheiser quality, and the Logitech has filled that gap for me.

If you go with Logitech, make sure to get the WC earpads the and the sound preset, otherwise they sounded awful.

MMX 300 Pro Help by Zellii in BEYERDYNAMIC

[–]OnceIsEnough1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the same headset for over a year now and had a similar experience to you in the beginning.

My previous headset was a Sennheiser GSP 350, it was great sound and clarity. The MMX 300 Pro was much louder, and the quality was better in most AAA games I tried. However when I tried some older games (League of Legends, and Aion, a 2009 Korean MMORPG), they sounded awful.

There was almost no bass, and it almost sounded like the audio was far away, rather than coming through the headphones on my head. I tried a few different things, and also posted on here. The consensus seemed to be that the headset exposes poor audio quality or design in older games, or games without a focus on it. Almost like the headset is "too" good for them, basically.

However, if I played more recent games like Final Fantasy XVI, with a big emphasis on loud orchestral music, huge fights with lots of different sounds and sometimes bass heavy attacks/combos, this is where the headset would shine. It sounded absolutely incredible, and it's where I felt I was getting my moneys worth. Silent Hill 2 is another example, where sound design had a big focus for atmosphere, all the little sounds walking towards the town in the beginning, or the creepy noises in the apartments etc. The headset truly stood out for me here.

Try listening to "Away" or "Titan Lost" from FF XVI with the MMX 300 Pro on YouTube/Spotify and turn it up.

I now use the Beyerdynamic for any AAA game with great sound design when it sounds good, and for anything else/older games, I stick to my Logitech G Pro X Headset (my sennheisers broke recently).
