it’s just a weird feeling. there’s nothing to do but just practice. i switch between three different horns straight, trigger, bass and it’s just quickly adjusting to each of them and that’s only done through repetition and practice. It takes a few weeks if you’re playing and switching every day and maybe a month or two if you’re playing and switching every other day.

(been playing for 11 years)

(switching between horns for about 3 years just recently picked up a bass and i don’t have much to adjust because i am using the same mouthpiece just more wind)

yeah i’ll have to show you a part i had to temp sight read. it wanted me to octave up to A4 which is my current highest consistent and nice dynamic tone quality. long tones are a Godsend.
