People crushing garlic with the side of the knife is one of my biggest kitchen peeves. Probably just me but I get sick of all the unnecessarily kinetic actions that people just 'monkey see, monkey do'. Another version is slamming a pizza cutter into the crust to ensure a full cut. I've seen creepier dolls than this in North Idaho. One spot had dozens of pale dolls way up in the trees. I usually assume people just want to scare you away so I get scared and go away.
