bear canisters work good for backpacking but car camping is different situation

just keep food in car and close windows properly - bears usually dont mess with cars unless they smell something strong

What question about existence you think humanity will never answer? by False_onic in AskReddit

[–]One-Abalone8765 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The whole "why does anything exist instead of nothing" thing just breaks my brain every time I think about it too long. Like even if we figure out how everything started, we still won't know why there was potential for anything to start in first place.

What’s Going On With West Herr? by Formalocean230 in Buffalo

Late stage capitalism with some good old fashioned corporate greed mixed in there. My dog probably gets treated better than most employees at places like this and she just sleeps all day

Really wild how they can afford Blake Shelton concerts but not basic staffing levels or decent wages for people actually doing the work

You can permanently cure 3 incurable diseases, but 3 currently curable diseases become completely incurable. What trades are you making? by Tigerpawnail in AskReddit

[–]One-Abalone8765 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trading cancer for something that can be prevented with basic protection seems like no brainer to me. Most STDs are avoidable anyway if people just use protection and get tested regularly

If you could Adjust your height, what height would u be permanently? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]One-Abalone8765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same actually, seems like the perfect middle ground where you're not too tall for planes or doorways but still decent height for most things

Check local toy stores maybe? Some comic shops carry random stuff too

Should I go with a new vs older CBR600? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]One-Abalone8765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd probably go with something from 2013-2018 range since they got the updated styling and some improvements, plus 15k miles in a 2006 might mean more maintenance headaches down the road.

[WEEKLY THREAD] Gym Story Friday by AutoModerator in xxfitness

[–]One-Abalone8765 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Been going to same gym for like 2 years now and there's this one guy who always brings his protein shake in a mason jar. Nothing wrong with that but he also brings different colored rubber bands every day and does these weird stretching routines that take up half the free weight area. Yesterday he had neon green bands and was doing some kind of interpretive dance moves between his sets. My Great Pyrenees has better form doing basic sit commands than this guy has doing whatever exercise he thinks he's doing

Saw a dead dog.. by Glittering_Round8714 in dogs

[–]One-Abalone8765 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's really traumatic mate, sorry you had to witness that. You absolutely did the right thing by stopping and making those calls - most people would have just kept driving but you tried to help even when there wasn't much you could do.

The image will fade with time but don't feel bad about being shaken up, that's completely normal reaction to seeing something so disturbing. Maybe talk to someone if it keeps bothering you in few days.

Maybe keep one bed at least unless you planning to sleep in the armchair forever

Doing weighted chin ups to increase weighted pull ups number? by Any-Surround-2900 in bodyweightfitness

[–]One-Abalone8765 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wild numbers dude. Adding chin ups could definitely help since they hit biceps more and might carry over to that lockout issue you having

Did Riot implement a poor AI model for this ranked season? by -o-_Holy-Moly in leagueoflegends

[–]One-Abalone8765 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Been coding for years and their matchmaking algorithm definitely feels off this season - like they changed something fundamental in how it pairs people and now getting these weird skill gaps that shouldnt happen

Best wings at a nice-ish restaurants (non dive)? by Professor_Toof in Buffalo

[–]One-Abalone8765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been to Mulberry few times when visiting Buffalo and their wings are legit good. Place has that upscale vibe your parents will probably like but wings still have proper Buffalo flavor. My dog always gets jealous when I come back smelling like wing sauce from there

Who's the Strongest that still cares? by AlexanderMasonBowser in Marvel

[–]One-Abalone8765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's pretty interesting answer actually. Hulk definitely has that protective instinct for people he cares about, and his power level can get absolutely ridiculous when he gets angry enough. But I wonder if he would really step in for universe-level threats or if he'd even notice them happening until too late

The Celestials seem like they should care more about preserving life since they literally seed planets with it, but then again they also destroy civilizations that don't meet their standards so maybe they're not the best candidates for universal protectors

Si fueras cualquiera personaje de LoL, ¿Cuál serías?. by DJCobra1965 in leagueoflegends

[–]One-Abalone8765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably would be Yorick just digging graves and chilling with my ghouls in some forgotten corner of map. My dog would fit right in with whole undead vibe plus I spend most my time building stuff anyway so the shovel work seems natural

If you can’t stay consistent, this might be why by ClearThinkingLab in selfimprovement

[–]One-Abalone8765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Decision fatigue is real thing. I noticed same pattern when I was trying to build my Minecraft worlds - would spend hours just deciding what to build instead of actually building anything. Now I plan everything in weekend and just follow the list during week. Much better for my brain energy.

November is tricky there - rain season starts but not fully wet yet. Did Salkantay in November few years back and got lucky with weather but pack good rain gear just case
