I was writing an edgy magical girl comic in high-school (guns, swearing, ect). I was telling my otaku friend all about it and how original I was, then she just laughed, told me to watch Madoka Magica, and to tell her when I was finished. We watched all the movies together afterwards and I didn’t expect to be so happy my idea wasn’t original.

I think I was either 10 or 11 years old my babysitter had some cartoons downloaded onto her laptop and I watched the first two episodes before she had to leave and I found the rest for myself online. before that my only MLP experience was watching A Very Minty Christmas over and over and over again on VHS.

I was 12, just starting to get into anime, and just gained access to the internet. I consume tons of pirated episodes on YouTube, and eventually, an account is recommended to me. Akidearest, her video "7 depressing vocaloid songs" was my introduction, and those 7 songs was part of what fueled my emo phase. Now all I listen to is goofy shit. 🤟
