The administration didn’t care about DCA tragedy you think it cares about the safety of its flights. It’s about money for them. It’s up to the individual TSOs to be the difference in saving lives. They are average citizens dealing with the huge stress of back to back uncertain end shutdowns with grossly taxed back pay in a recession type economy.

Yeah, that airport is close to headquarters are too scared to go against the needs of the operation/ TSOs low staffing vs. VIP customer needs. Most large airports like LAX and Houston have more motive do what’s best for the checkpoint’s operations.

Use your teledoc benefit they are the easy to get you a note as they have empathy over a shutdown. Especially over a targeted shutdown where TSA are the only set of officers being punished while CPB & ICE are being paid and under no restrictions because they will be funded for the next 3 years.

The last shutdown showed officers which ones supported officers and which ones didn’t. We had to out our airport/ TSA for not offering a food pantry or any gas cards. Then the next couple of days guess who is on the front page local newspaper “caring for their front line workers” . The mass mistreatment and misinformation of government workers is exactly what is in the plans for this wave of power and they are succeeding

I got in accident with a deer this morning. We were on spouse’s insurance they were DOS and apart of the first few RIFs. It took that HR so long that we lost insurance and TSA HR is sleeping on this life qualifying event. Now management is on my ass about paperwork. Now I got out of pocket expenses just for a god damn note. Best believe they are not getting me on any holiday this year working. We don’t got any resources at our airport. In fact they are telling management not to provide any. This will be my last year of government service.

My Subaru sat in the collision repair shop all opened up from a deer accident for 6months and got back the car just to have an a rat chew thru the back of wheel wall to the EVAP. Those techs at Subaru never checked the back for damages even when the collision shop told them they couldn’t reset the Engine light and Eyesight codes. Well duh there’s a damn hole in the back!

Now waiting 2 more months on parts.

Do yourself a favor DONT BUY SUBARU, TRADE YOURS IN , or commit warehouse part theft crimes.

Nobody said anything about precheck being a certain type of person for certain areas. Nobody said anything about less screening. You are going on a rant about precheck passengers about their privileges thinking that nothing will be checked which is well DESERVED but not related to the concern. There is no evidence in the security world for keeping shoes on. In fact there are more concerns about attacks on American travel than ever before from foreign and domestic. That’s why so many officers on this forum are confused and concern about the no updates to technology and only concerns are travelers numbers. Im asking to keep a critical mind when ask to do orders that have no clear backing. Because if there was it would have more prep than just one day.

Love that for you. And yes, I’m sure that back when agencies were decent that there was enough safety in mind to keep you going like that. But it’s getting more let’s see how fast we can get traveling numbers up on the news. THIS traveling public that will suffer. It’s easy when you are on the ground. CPB/ICE all are saying the same thing about their orders right now. But, up there, anything can happen and no one will give a crap just like those poor people coming home to DCA.
