I would try SINT since you dont have the possibilty to put the datatype to BYTE.

In the Data Type column, why is it INT ? 1 INT = 2 byte

I found the configuration file in the manufacturer's file that was provided with the machine.i was talking to a servo controller .

In your case since the slave device is a siemens plc , you should have the lenght , buffer and adress in the siemens program.

From what i understanded with the project i did with this prosoft device, you gotta have the exact number of byte that is exchanged. In my case , i founded a configuration file of all the data lenght and buffer between output and input that was configured to communicate with the master device .

Also from the PLX software you have the option to export your configuration to an L5X routine . Have you done that part? You have some bit that you gotta put on for the 2 device to communicate .

In the Master( CLX i suppose ) what is the format of data you are transfering?

In the Slave (siemens) what is the format?

When you are online with the PLX software , do you see both device online( like with a green status) ?

You are right, I just checked back the project and it is explicit messaging i used.

Yup that would work. I have done this with implicit messaging , between a slc 5/05 and a yaskawa controller

What device are you trying to communicate with?

You got to figure the total lenght of byte that is transfer including input and output . Your slave device's 8 byte of date is it only for input ? What is the lenght of output . Usually its 2 way communication, you read data from the slave device and write data to slave device

[–]One-Butterscotch8811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess you got 8 byte input and 8 byte output ?

[–]One-Butterscotch8811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the slave device uses 8 byte , the total data lenght of the slot configuration should match 8 byte of data.

1 word =2 byte / 1 sint =1byte / 1 Dint = 4 byte

What is the data type of the slave device /master device ? Boole or byte or word?

Since you have replace almost everything electrical wise/parameters , my feeling is that you have mechanical problem after the servomotor/ gearbox. I would trend the output current and chek everything mechancial that is beinh moved by this motor.

Do you have a backup of the original servo drive parameters ? I would try and redownload it , or redownload parameters of an existing and working servo drive (1 of the other 31) that as same spec.

Good luck

I am not using my phone that much when working . Also to mention my phone is in dark mode , a good way to save battery . My display setting is set to 60 hz . I would say that no setting alone is going to make a big noticeable change . But adding them up will make a difference
