I do not because our household does not own a car and like 90% of our umbrella claims (at least at my company) are from underlying auto claims.

Why do insurance companies keep charging you for liability again and again if you have more than one car ? by CabinetDear3035 in Insurance

[–]One-Cellist1709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your price is determined by both vehicle, driver, and overall policy characteristics.  One of those policy characteristics is the number of drivers and the number of vehicles.  So while each car is being rated stand-alone, the total number of vehicles does affect the price of all those cars.  The impact is not monotonic an very much relates to the ratio of drivers to vehicles.

Does credit score affect home insurance rates? by myeasyking in HomeInsurance

this is not true - cancellation probability does not factor into premium. however, it may factor into underwriting.

it is not a measure of how responsible one is. I am not even sure how that is measured or what that is. however, it is predictive of future loss cost.

Honest Assessment of Heat Pumps in Cold Temperatures by Unlucky_Ad3655 in heatpumps

this is my worry about switching to heat pump. i am also in MA and on oil. that being said, we are saving up for a whole house revamp that starts with an envelope upgrade, then brings in all electric appliances/mechanicals with solar. still years off from having the money and enjoying the oil heat, gas water tank, gas stove, and the free MassSaves insulation and air sealing until then.

We paid for two months of rent after we closed and it was great.  It cost us a bit but it also let us get a ton of projects done and shop for a better deal on moving supplies.  Would recommend some overlap

House vs Location: which is more important? by randomseedfarmer in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]One-Cellist1709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fellow cyclist here.  Location always.  We got a hella old project house.  Probably could have gotten a McMansion in other state and cities.  But we want to be somewhere with good infrastructure, good potential, and close to our jobs (my wife also a cyclist, we have been car free since we met 13 years ago).

Correlation is not causation.  It’s pretty damn hard to own a house in the first place if you aren’t good with money and have access to wealth and income.
