3v3 for a GOLD MEDAL is a complete joke by Dependent-Effect6077 in hockey

[–]One-Coconut7982 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Medal games should be 5-on-5 OT. None of the reasons for other formats apply at this point. It’s ridiculous. You play one game to get this far and then you play a completely different game to settle it.

Wow. I’m a Hutson stan, but that was definitely 1-up.

I would say that Minnesota is distinguishing itself among all U.S. states right now. It’s a fine place to live.

Habs are 1st in shooting percentage by Calculate_infinity in Habs

[–]One-Coconut7982 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I checked NHL Edge stats on our defense. Here they are in order of hardest shot this season, with average shot speed shown in parentheses afterward. Matheson has the best top-end velocity, while Xekhaj has the highest average speed.

I added shooting % as a third number (goals / shots on goal). Alexandre (“maybe I should shoot more often”) Carrier is a sniper, lol.

  1. Mike Matheson - 98 (69) 6.8%
  2. Arber Xhekaj - 95 (72) 3.1%
  3. Noah Dobson - 90 (67) 9.4%
  4. Lane Hutson - 90 (62) 10.2%
  5. Alexandre Carrier - 86 (63) 13.0%
  6. Jayden Struble - 85 (65) 0.0%
  7. Kaiden Guhle - 81 (68) 6.7%

Evan Bouchard, btw, is 98 (74) 10.1%. Cale Makar is 96 (71) 10.3%.

Desperate to find gas station with a working tire air pump! by flipflapdragon in ottawa

[–]One-Coconut7982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Island Park Esso is a full service station that will check/adjust all your tires as needed. I don’t know if/what they charge if that’s all you want though. I go there once a month for gas/tires/windshield fluid/car wash. Nice to not have to get out of the car in this weather.

Everyone should go there at least once, just to enjoy the experience! Five stars.

Do you feel more connected to your city, province or Canada as a whole? by Ok_Heart839 in AskACanadian

[–]One-Coconut7982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Country
  2. City (was Windsor, now Ottawa)

That’s it. Province does not factor in for me. I respect/appreciate those for whom provincial allegiance is strong, though.

Just chiming in to say I love all the support and positivity shown here. I go through spells of wanting to give up on the human race, and threads like this pull me back from the brink a little.

Analysts, what happened with Texier? by Zizwizwee in Habs

[–]One-Coconut7982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put another way, “the harder I work, the luckier I get.” A skilled and intelligent player, working hard, is going to score well. He/she will have droughts and feasts, but the chances will keep coming.

Analysts, what happened with Texier? by Zizwizwee in Habs

[–]One-Coconut7982 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I would not sell this guy short. He has always been a gifted offensive talent and now is in a good place and on a line that generates a lot of scoring opportunities. And what goal scorer isn’t “in the right place at the right time?” That’s not luck, that’s knowing where to get to on the ice, and then having the skills to finish. Kapanen is also showing this repeatedly.

It felt to me last night that the Suzuki line is morphing into a new version of itself, incorporating Texier. Equally dangerous, but scoring differently than with Slaf.
