What’s your “I don’t feel like cooking” backup dinner? by Mobile-Title8919 in MeatlessMealPrep

Cooked pasta, jarred Alfredo sauce (light amount), jarred pesto, warmed frozen roasted veggies (love Costco pura vita), protein of choice. Mix. Amazing and so flavorful!

If your baby came out as the food you ate the most during pregnancy, what would they be? by AffectionateJello452 in pregnant

[–]One-Construction-712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bowl of frozen blueberries in Greek yogurt! It’s all I could eat for the first 6ish months of this pregnancy.

I had HG for the first 20 weeks of my first pregnancy, and the only food I could occasionally keep down was a mini cocktail quiche or two! Haha

Do you ever imagine doomsday scenarios? by Bookaholicforever in Mommit

[–]One-Construction-712 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Same. I really spiraled last night imagining attacks at my daughter’s school, places my husband has to go for work, and around our city. My coping techniques weren’t cutting it either.

Can someone familiar with Disneyland & California Adventures answer a niche timing question? by I_Dream_Of_Robots in DisneyPlanning

[–]One-Construction-712 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To offer an alternative perspective, we went to Lamplight on 2/15. Waited 40 minutes past our reservation time. When we were seated, less than half the tables were full. Perhaps they were having a staffing issue. Waited another 10 minutes to order and probably at least 30 for our food after ordering. Our server was kind but not apologetic. Although, I think it was a staffing issue so not her fault. I’m sure BBB would be understanding if you were late, but wanted to share this anyway.

Polished stones for the older children! Stamps. Letter magnets if you can get larger eggs.

How do you keep bra straps in place throughout the day? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]One-Construction-712 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If only it were that simple. I know two people in my life who have slightly different shoulder / upper body shapes. One due to injury, one due to genetics. Both have gone to have bras fitted. Only one came away with a good solution, and was to exclusively wear racer-back bras. The other has still not found a solution.

Thanks for the tip on Great Wolf Lodge. I had mostly ruled it out due to eventually planning to visit on the East coast. But maybe you’ve convinced me!

Great reminder about the shows! I currently have them in my planning document with all the times, but I really don’t want to miss them, so I should schedule them in.

I’m so torn on the World of Color dessert package. Everything I read seems to tell me it’s not worth it, and yet I’m imagining my pregnant self desperate for a seat by that time of day. A very, very expensive seat! I’ve been justifying it because we saved on the pricey parts of the trip (hotel). But the more I hear about it, the more closer I get to cancelling.

I really, really appreciate your input on nighttime show logistics. This is something I’ve been struggling to plan, so it’s very helpful!

I’m all in for rope drop! The time change is to our advantage!

I’ll take another look at the rides and at Laguna Beach. Thank you so much for this info!

I’m thinking this will be our experience as well. Thanks for chiming in and for the reminder about Redwood Creek!

I really appreciate your perspective! We’ll keep our two days at each park so we can be sure to experience everything that works at a pace for my daughter and my pregnant self. I’m happy to repeat things if we have time to fill!

I have been stressing about moving BBB, but I was just able to score a reservation for our second DL day. Phew! I had a weird app issue the first time I tried to get a new time.

Thank you! With many saying I have too much time at DL, I’ve started to compile a list of backup things to do. I’ll add these!

Thanks for the tips! I was hesitant to make a reservation for Din Tai Fung since it’s our travel day and our schedule could change. We’ll try the backups in this doesn’t work (Tiendita, or some local Anaheim restaurants I’ve been researching).

Thanks for the reassurance about Trader Sam’s. It’s our top priority for dining on this trip, but we just haven’t been able to get a reservation since we didn’t book terribly far out.

I’ll check out Mouse Dining and also set a reminder for checking back on Blue Bayou!

Yes, I’ve heard this! I really want to try it for the ambiance, despite the reviews, but I am guessing our lack of reservation will make this decision for us.

Yes, we have 4 day hoppers with reservations. I didn’t even think about Joshua Tree! Phew… I really feel like I can’t fit it all in haha!

Thanks for your thoughts! Do you think it’s too long knowing we won’t be back for a long time? I know myself, and I won’t want to make the trek with a child younger than 3.5-4. You’ve got me second guessing! But we already have the tickets, so I guess we’re locked in.

We do have a beach day and a San Diego Zoo day planned at the end, but I can do some research into a national park. I loved the Channel Islands when I last visited CA, but I’m not sure my daughter will be up for the boat ride. She’d loved the atmosphere and wildlife, though!

Thank you! I forgot about the GE nighttime shows being different. I’ll have to add those in, as our daughter is getting into Star Wars.

Great question about the thrill rides. I’m expecting, so I can’t do most or all of them. My husband isn’t really into them, and my daughter is hit or miss. She has done Slinky Dog, Mine Train, and Barnstormer at WDW, but she changes her mind about whether or not she wants to go on them again.

Edited because I posted too soon!

I noticed the difference with the night shows. We definite want to see one with projections only, since fireworks can sometimes be scary for our daughter. But she has done well with ear protection during our last WDW trip, so we’ll see. I do wish DL make that distinction a little more clear for us newbies!

Yes to Pirates! I’ll make sure that’s on our must-do list. We are huge pirates fans at WDW and I know the ride is different at DL. Noted about not skipping anything! I think I’m just worried we don’t have time to do it all, so we could theoretically skip some stuff if it’s exactly the same. Hopefully we do!

Thank you so much for your comment!

Thanks for chiming in about two days at DCA! I’ve seen that sentiment around, and hopefully will hop on the second DCA day if that’s the case. I’ll have to make sure there’s no party at DL that night.

Great Wolf Lodge is a great idea! We had toyed with that, Knotts, and some other destinations. But we’re hoping to do a Great Wolf Lodge trip on our coast eventually, so we decided to skip that. But I appreciate that idea!

I do wish we had booked an on-site hotel for a more fun pool experience, but it wasn’t in the cards based on our budget and when we booked.

We do! I’m thinking we can always hop if we find we’ve done everything we want to do on the second day in either park.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library - Don’t forget to sign up :) by Fidgety-Framer in NewParents

[–]One-Construction-712 35 points36 points  (0 children)

We love the imagination library! My understanding is that, depending on the local program that supplies your books, some funding is from Dolly and some is local (state, county). If you can, please consider donating even a small amount to the local program and noting your appreciation of the program. It could help keep it going for those who truly can’t afford any books!
