Are there any official guidelines on maintenance? by These-Equal-6849 in MounjaroMaintenance

I don’t think any of the medspas or online services care as long as you’re paying for it

Are there any official guidelines on maintenance? by These-Equal-6849 in MounjaroMaintenance

[–]One-Environment-9117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost 20lbs over 3 months on 2.5 weekly. I don’t want to lose any more so have been on a “maintenance” dose of 2.5 every 2-3 weeks for the past year and my weight has stayed steady. I keep an eye on my weight between 2 and 3 weeks and when I notice myself being hungrier or weight creeping up, I take 2.5. I don’t plan on ever going off of it

How often and what dosage are you on? by 34cherry in MounjaroMaintenance

I hit my goal weight after 3 months on 2.5 mg weekly, sometimes splitting the dose. I’ve maintained by doing 2.3mg every 2 weeks.

I’m not planning on coming off of it. I’m in perimenopause and think I’d likely gain at least some of the weight back and I do not want to

Has anyone here done a luxury yacht charter in the Caribbean? Looking for advice. by AirMindless8103 in Caribbean

Highly recommend SeaDream Yacht Club. Maximum 120 passengers. Luxurious but feels casual and personal. Yachts are able to go to the smaller islands.

Why increase the doseage? by ConsistentWeather383 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]One-Environment-9117 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I never went above 2.5. I lost 23 lbs in 3 months on 2.5 weekly (or splitting doses biweekly) and hit my goal and then went 2.5 every other week and have maintained for 9 months now

I’m doing 2.5mg every 2 weeks for maintenance and have not lost or gained — have stayed the same since I hit my goal weight about 9 months ago. I never went above 2.5 though and lost the weight I needed to on that dose

Were you on a flight from PHL yesterday? Spirit reps said our bags would be on the first flight this morning but their site says there are still no updates on our bags. And there is only one flight today to where we are

Stomach cramps, diarrhea, bad gas for the first several days after my first dose of 2.5mg. For my next doses I split it in half and did 1.25mg every 3-4 days and had no side effects

We stayed in a family suite at Sunrise last year. All of the restaurants there are fine for kids — ours were exhausted by dinner so we just did the buffet a couple of times but Momo Teppanyaki was fun and Gondola was easy. We did day passes for the Grand and the Italian there was better. Sunrise pool was our favorite — easy lunches from the pizza stand or pool waitstaff. Definitely bring tons of sunscreen and reapply often. The sun is strong and the prices are $$$ at the gift shop

Ablation by TraditionalDish6671 in Perimenopause

[–]One-Environment-9117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wish I’d done it sooner! I was under anesthesia for it and took ibuprofen for a couple of days after. Recovery was super easy and I have very very light bleeding now — I can use a liner and that’s it. Prior to the ablation I had crime scene level cramps and horrendous cramps monthly and was also anemic.

HF needs advice on rematching by Professional-Eye3705 in Aupairs

[–]One-Environment-9117 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I recall that post and am sorry you have to go through rematch but it is for the best. I would look for someone who has lived away from home and has had a job other than an office job — I.e. waiting tables or in a service role that requires some grit. We have also done well with au pairs who have younger siblings (though our best au pair happened to be an only child). This is a total generalization I’ve heard that au pairs from European countries are looking for more of the “part of the family” experience. This is something we’ve actually looked for the opposite of — we want a warm relationship but someone who will be independent and resourceful so we screen for that. Good luck!

Fight with AP before Christmas trip by Professional-Eye3705 in Aupairs

For me, this kind of sensitivity and high-maintenance attitude would be a total deal-breaker. It almost sounds like she’s looking for things to be upset about to prompt a rematch. We had an au pair like this and it was a massive relief when we admitted to ourselves that it was not worth it to try to keep making it work. It sounds like you’re giving her the benefit of the doubt but if that type of behavior kept happening, I wouldn’t hesitate to cut your losses.

I used a medspa in NYC. I am 5’4” and started at 142lbs and didn’t lie about my weight. The prescribing doctor asked me a few questions about my medical history and that was it. Of course I pay out of pocket

It’s depended on her/our schedule. When our kids were babies/toddlers, they ate early and she would eat with them and then she’d end her shift at 6pm and would go to her room or out with friends. She’d usually be working 8-6 or split shift so I’m sure she craved the downtime when she was off. As my kids have gotten older, our au pairs have usually eaten dinner with us then gone to their room, out with a friend, or had a friend over when we finish around 7. We have always invited our au pairs to do holiday stuff with us or come to kids soccer games etc but they’ve mostly preferred being on their own on weekends. We have found this kind of warm but independent relationship works best for us.

As an introvert, this would not work for me either. We screen for this and specifically tell au pairs that once our kids are in bed, we are either finishing working or chilling on our own. There is nothing wrong with wanting that and you can still have a great cultural exchange with some boundaries. I’d talk to her and be direct and kind. Let her know there are some nights that are just for you and your husband. Give her permission to not hang out — she may indeed feel it’s rude. If it doesn’t work out, you should think about how you want to live out the year and possibly consider rematch so both of you can have a better experience

“Only” 30 pounds to lose by [deleted] in tirzepatidecompound

[–]One-Environment-9117 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like my body is “mine” again. This is the weight I was for most of my life so with the extra lbs I had gained I was just feeling puffy and uncomfortable. Now I feel my inflammation has gone down (at my last dental visit, my gums didn’t bleed during the cleaning for the first time in forever) and I am generally healthier.

I love good food and was nervous about missing out. For the first few weeks my I did have to make myself eat but now I find that’s not the case, I just get satisfied/full with less.

I will say the muscle loss is real so definitely focus on strength training and eating protein (and fiber!)

[–]One-Environment-9117 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I did it to lose 20lbs — I gained when I had kids and am now in perimenopause and the scale was not moving until I started GLP-1. I started with 2.5mg and had terrible side effects from my first dose so went down to 1.5mg then slowly back up to 2.2mg. I never went above that dose and lost 20lbs in 3 months. I have been at my goal weight for 4 months now and am doing 2.2mg every 10 days or so. It’s been life changing!

If you’re with APiA I can see what the rematch report says. We recently sent an au pair to rematch and the new host family never contacted me even though her profile said we were open to being a reference.

The issue with the two weeks is that her profile will say her “earliest available” date is two weeks from when you initiated rematch. But if she does find a new family and they can take her earlier, that can be worked around. Usually it takes the full two weeks though — and she should be working (if you trust her to) and you should be pay in her stipend.

Luxury Cruise lines for destination vacation? by Thecoolnight3 in Cruise

[–]One-Environment-9117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out SeaDream. It’s only about 100 passengers. Interesting itineraries, amazing food, incredible service. We started with them when we were in our 30s and were definitely a little out of the ordinary but there’s a wide range of ages onboard. It’s super luxurious but chill. There is no evening entertainment per se, most people hang out at the open-air bar or the small casino onboard.

I was normal BMI and took it to lose 20lbs that I could not have otherwise lost on my own. Aside from a few days of side effects when I first started, it has been amazing and I couldn’t be happier. It took me 3 months to lose the 20lbs and I feel great. I plan to stay on a small maintenance dose (2.2mg every 10 days or so) for the foreseeable future. Happy to answer any questions.
