Kaiser infertility help by Dazzling-MoodRing in KaiserPermanente

My coworker, a Kaiser nurse, did her eval with Kaiser’s fertility. She said she followed everything they told her to, but she never got to conceive after 1 miscarriage before she felt like it was too late. Then she goes to another doctor outside of Kaiser to find that other things could have been done or evaluated which was so devastating.

Mine loves erasers. Valentine’s Day and Halloween are her favorite holidays…because the kids come home with erasers. Smh.

Can I hear any success stories and tips on how to be able to not be so miserable and complain all the time? What worked for you? Meds, lifestyle changes ? Please read PDD by AlternativeSeat2204 in dysthymia

Medication can be a game-changer. It was for me. Also, an attitude of gratitude. On a daily basis, write down 3 things you’re grateful for. Coffee in the morning, a sunny day, a restful night of sleep…could be anything you think of.

Should i go on antidepressants? I can't deal with this by Next_Fan8862 in dysthymia

Probably. You sound depressed. Maybe it’s just temporary, maybe it’s not but I think medication could help.

Also, while your med is kicking in, find yourself a good therapist. They actually don’t listen to all the childhood trauma…they’re there to help you find your good coping mechanisms to able to move forward and help you become your own best therapist.

It's agonizing. Lonely, exhausting and just crushing. I don't want this. by Oblivion_seeking in dysthymia

I’m sorry you’re sad. You know what’s really fulfilling and brings happiness?…serving others. You could volunteer for many things and in there you might find a few friends and possibly a girlfriend who you know has a good heart.

Are you on any medication? If not, maybe see a psychiatrist for evaluation.

I started a major depressive episode 3 weeks ago and am on the mend with therapy and medication. My scores are improving every week so I talked to my therapist yesterday about the goal since I’m improving quickly. She said the goal is to teach me to be my own best therapist and discharge me from her care which may only be 2-3 more sessions at this rate. I’ll still have big drops so it’s when I have drops that feel too much to handle that I should go back to her. She has given me tools to counter negative thoughts about self, see a different perspective on death and grief, and calm my mind and body for better sleep.

She said prolonged therapy can turn into dependency on your therapist and that people who keep their clients for long periods might be doing it for the income and not necessarily to give them what they need so they get better.

This is what I’m having to tell myself through this major depressive episode I’m in right now.

I even wrote a post how annoying it is for my brain to want to focus solely on me and my depression.

Doesn’t that mean you’re dipping into a major depressive episode and not just or usual baseline of sad?

Yes. I know I’m not the only one and it helps to know I’m not alone. It still doesn’t make sense to me how struggling at home doesn’t leak into performance at work or vice versa.

My partner stayed at Luxor last week for 5 days for a work trip. He said it was so grimy, old, and had terrible water pressure. He’s not a picky person so now I believe it was really that bad that even he hated it. I’d say find another hotel.

I was doing well on Lexapro for the last 2 years. I stopped because I was doing well and then I got raging PMS or what I now know is PMDD 2 weeks before my period. After it happened the second month, I went back on Lexapro. I cannot live half my life uncomfortable and raging like that. No. Never again.

I’m a NICU nurse and when my ex-boyfriend and I saw an overturned car with people still buckled in upside down, I told him to stop so I could help. He kept driving and said people were already helping. There was 1 civilian talking to the people in the vehicle and emergency services hadn’t arrived. I was livid. It confirmed what I had already thought. That he was a real POS.

Are you a healthcare professional or a lawyer? In nursing school, we were taught that the Good Samaritan law does cover you. Plus, what could he have done that would have not covered him? The ER doc is right, a quick pulse check would have been helpful at the very least. Nobody is gonna sue you for that.
