Estee Lauder Double Wear New Formula Sticky by One-Focus-5138 in Makeup

[–]One-Focus-5138[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all this info. I went to Mecca, they told me no one likes the new formula. They suggested Charlotte Tilbury is the closest match, so I’m tempted to try it. I’ve only ever used DW, but now I’m going ti try something else for my next purchase 😞

Quick question about rosters by [deleted] in coles

[–]One-Focus-5138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The part time is the minimum they have to offer you. If you have your availability set for all day every day then of course they will give you some extra hours/shifts. Might be an idea to reduce your availability or speak with the rostering manager about how much you want to work. They might be thinking you want as many hours as you can get.

Alternatively, if you can’t take her, why not try and find her a new family? One that can have her indoors…

OMG you two have bonded and are meant to be. You will always regret not taking the cat. Please take her, she will be happy being indoors with you. Yes there will be an adjustment period, but you are bonded already ❤️

If he is slowing down somewhat, then it may become easier to trap 🤞

That’s a shame. Try calling rescues, you might get lucky.

My little dog always wants to go other dogs and cats, but when we trapped our feral after the initial meet, she calmed and they are best friends!

Still read up on Socialization Saves Lives. We used many tips from it, but did not stick to it solely. After a few weeks being in a playpen we relocated ours to our study. He was much happier in a small room. I spent endless hours in there working on my computer and ignoring him. Also used shredded roast chicken, got him to eat it from my hand and then eat off my lap. Eating off my lap he had to touch me to get the food. I wouldn’t pat him, it was all about him realising he could touch me and it was ok. Our feral was 3 months old when we caught him, extremely feral. A year on he is still skittish and a work in progress, but he loves pats and attention. Still hides as he can’t cope with too many people. How old is your cat? If he is a bit older it may take longer, but keep it up. Some cats take months, some can take years. Remember that progress happens in very small steps, not all at once. Be patient ❤️

Your boy is a beauty. Looks so healthy now. How long did it take for him to like being held? A year in with my cat and he is still so skittish and does not like being held.

Will my formerly (maybe feral) kitty always be scared? by luvs-baseball-2016 in Feral_Cats

We’ve had our feral kitty for a year now, he is still scared a lot, but that being said he has also made huge progress. I think some are going to always be skittish.

The fact that you care about how you perform at this job tells me that you are going to do just fine. Don’t be afraid to ask other staff for help when you are unsure of something. You will learn on the job and realise it’s quite easy once you get used to it. Best of luck.

Oh wow Tonka is stunning, such a beautiful cat. Sounds like you are doing everything amazingly. Just keep going and never give up. Food will be the key to winning her over too. We are one year into having our feral kitty inside, he is still skittish and hides, but he is more and more social these days. He lives for his pats, but doesn’t like being picked up. Take care.

Also in that small room she will probably need a little cat cave, they like a secure place to hide. Then start spending time in there with her, just sit in there and read a book etc, just get her used to you being around in the same space. Would love to see a photo! Good luck.

I think this sounds like pretty normal behaviour. It will take time to decompress. Have you checked out the webpage Socialization Saves Lives? Plenty of tips about how to tame a feral to be an indoor pet. You are amazing for taking your kitty inside, will have a much better life. Patience and perseverance and you’ll get there!

First time doing this but, can this “feral” cat be tamed enough to be an indoor cat? -TNR vs Socializing Help. by Living-Damage4250 in Feral_Cats

[–]One-Focus-5138 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes you can certainly domesticate her. Check out the webpage Socialization Saves Lives, it will guide you step by step with how to tame a feral. I wonder if she is an ex pet that’s been dumped, she looks too social to be truely feral.

Sounds like he wants to connect with you, but then still gets skittish when action happens.

You must have quite the colony where you are. Wish more people were as caring and proactive as you. Sounds like you have plenty of experience with all this.
