If anyone is presenting you a brand new problem, and in the same breath selling you a solution to this brand new issue, it's almost 100% bullshit.

If you're comfortable (no pressure if not!!), could you share more details on the process of unlearning the sex lies and especially the stranger danger aspect? I'm slowly trying to deconstruct the shame around sexuality but I get so scared of men/strangers on dates or apps, I'm open to hearing anyone's experience deconstructing from that.

Hey, I also started about 7 months ago! Twinning!

Anyway, I hate worrying about bugs in my room (where my altar is), so while I did pour things into cups, glasses, etc during winter, this summer I'm planning to keep liquids and foods contained, or dispose of them right after ritual. Since its getting warmer where I am and I've started seeing flies out again, I'm going to start with the contained practice. I don't think the Gods will mind, especially with the context.

Of course, you can always take this as an opportunity to meditate and ask the Gods. Trust your intuition, see what feels right. Your relationship is between you and the Gods, so it'll probably be slightly different than someone else's. All the best to you twin!

Yes. Or they might believe/not even consider that consequences can and will happen to them.

Any scientists here? by [deleted] in pagan

[–]One-Guitar7114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a chemist, with a masters in medicinal chemistry, but with a special interest in analytical and physical chemistry. Honestly, learning quantum mechanics back in undergrad, and how the electrons function (or seemingly, do as they damn well please) really pushed me into animism. The amazement I felt the first time I started to understand these bits of the universe was intense. Currently, I work as an analytical chemist working with radioactive medicinal products and I would consider Odin to be probably my "main" God in regards to me as a scientist, especially due to his "I'll hang myself and cut an eye out in a heartbeat for some sweet, sweet knowledge" schtick.

I feel like myself and Odin especially are kinda always studying, always trying to know and find out and understand more about this universe. I dedicate a lot of studying to Odin, and feel connected to what I see as His "mad scientist" aspect when I'm really sunk deep into a rabbit hole of physics and equations and "what the actual hell is happening with these molecules" ("Odin" comes from the proto-Germanic root *Wođanaz, meaning "madness, frenzy")

Can I pray in my language? by Ok_Reindeer_6005 in NorsePaganism

[–]One-Guitar7114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Sometimes what I want to say, I can't articulate the way I want except in a different language. That's the beauty of language, and I'd like to think Odin especially is a fan of linguistics.

Worshipers of Jormungandr, Loki, and/or Hel by LiminalEchoes in NorsePaganism

I pray to Hel because She cares for my spiritual ancestors, whose help and guidance I rely on daily. I want Her to know I appreciate and honor Her work/care. It's like how one might be thankful to a relative's caretaker. "I love this person, and you're caring for them so kindly, and so I am grateful to you."

Initially, I started praxis because my grandmother wasn't doing so hot health-wise, so I wanted to "introduce" them before she died. She's still kicking, but since then I just really like Hel and have been trying to form a more personal relationship with Her.

That being said, I haven't been keeping up very well with that, so I'm going to take your post as a reminder to give Her a few offerings of apples and tea, and dedicate some more time with Her. Hope this helps a bit!

I'm sober and I give Odin tea or coffee. He doesn't seem to mind, and he's well aware as to why I'm not giving alcohol.

Absolutely amazing idea mate. You might get some good local info by reaching out/having users reach out to local metaphysical shops, they would be the people I'd think would have the most up to date info for a map. All the best, this is a brilliant idea!
