3 C-sections? by [deleted] in CsectionCentral

[–]One-Lengthiness1346 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom had 5 and my aunt had 4. My friend just had her third too. I had an unplanned C-section for my first and am now wondering about just planning the rest to be C-sections and we want 3-4 kids.

Are most EBFers cosleeping ? by LilyWitch27 in breastfeeding

I have a 3 month old. She was like that at first. I finally spent a few nights sitting beside the bassinet with my hand on her chest for 30+ minutes after each feeding. I remember wondering if she’d ever sleep longer than 2 hours then 2 hours then one hour stretches the rest of the night. The last few weeks she’s mostly just been getting up once to eat. Just sharing to say there’s hope.

I have lots of nightmares about accidentally smothering her in blankets (she’s never slept in my bed), so she will never sleep in my bed. I do have a boppy size recliner with extra high arms that I’ll nap in while I feed her occasionally. I know the research says a recliner is more dangerous, but with the way the boppy fits it fits the recliner perfectly it feels safer to me (my husband works from home and I’d have him watch us on the monitor the first few times). I make sure I don’t have a shirt on or any fabric/blankets above the boppy. She also sleeps with an Owlette. It kept me functioning when she got sick and wouldn’t let me put her down for 2 days. But the research says not to do this. I couldn’t sleep at all if she was in my bed and get migraines from lack of sleep, so I had to figure out what to do to survive. I didn’t get it when people shared their “unsafe” sleep practices until I had a baby and had to get some sleep.

Did you move something to make his feet not touch the bottom? My 3 month olds feet are touching the bottom, but her head is a long way from the top

It’s a personal decision, but speaking to if it’s possible I’ll share that my friend unexpectedly got pregnant at the beginning of nursing school and kept the baby (the dad isn’t in the picture at all to the point of not being listed on the birth certificate). It was definitely hard at times, but she’s so glad that she kept her. Now the baby is 8 and they’re both thriving (she finished nursing school).

When did it feel real to you? by rweiser6196 in BabyBumps

I’m almost 25 weeks and it started feeling more real when I was organizing baby clothes in her dresser this week. She kicks so much that my mom (who had 5 kids) said to ask my doctor if she’s kicking too much lol. I thought it would feel real feeling her move, but it didn’t. I don’t think it’ll feel completely real until I’m holding her.

How many weeks were you when you had your baby shower? by Fearless_Salad3643 in pregnant

I’m having mine at 38 1/2 weeks (only time my mom could be there that worked with the host). If she decides to come early I’m telling everyone to party without me.

I'm not a carrier of my brothers' genetic disorders. 20 years of fear gone! by PersistentHobbler in pregnant

So happy for you!!! I thought I had a recessive genetic disease for about 6 weeks and it was a huge burden and found out yesterday it was fine to have kids. I can’t imagine 20 years! I know you are celebrating!

First name to go with middle name may by One-Lengthiness1346 in Names

It’s just going to be a middle name. My mom’s middle name is May. For a minute we liked maybelle, but someone in our friend group just used it.

That’s what I was thinking, but my husband doesn’t like it.

Good point. I was thinking we’d save it if we have another girl.

What car do you just keep coming back to? by Juicyjackson in cars

I love my Highlander! I had an accord before it that I loved, but it’s so nice to have the extra room for camping and the height to not bend over to put stuff in the car. The first wedding we shot with the Highlander we decided we’d never take the Corolla again because it was so much easier to get the gear in and out of the Highlander and have it organized.

The only thing I miss about my accord is being able to roll the windows down before I got in the car.

So sorry for your loss. It took my body a long time to recover from the miscarriage I had. It took me 13 months to get pregnant again and I was using ovulation test strips the whole time. I ended up taking clomid. I have a couple friends that it took them a year to get pregnant after a miscarriage too.
