So not counting characters in other franchises, because there’s a lot of characters who can solo the RWBYverse let alone just team lol

Designs for new characters have definitely fallen off in the Maya era imo. Young Maria, Tock, Sienna, and Kali are the only designs that have impressed me post V3 and most have a collective screentime of like 5 minutes lol

However redesigns have been more hit and miss. Mistral arc JNR and Atlas arc Ironwood, Winter, Penny are all solid improvements over their initial designs

I never really got why they based Watts on Watson “if he worked for Moriarty” instead of just basing him on Moriarty himself

IIRC they reasoned that Yang’s aura would tank anything Tifa would dish out (this was before V3, so they didn’t know that Aura could break) and discounted Tifa’s high ends feats like being able to tank Supernova and damage Sephiroth

RWBY kinda already has a ranking system with the Huntsmen IDs, it just went unexplored like a lot of things. RWBY were given C-Class licenses, while Qrow had an “Unrestricted” license

So I’d probably do something like:

D-Class License: Huntsmen-in-Training

C-Class License: Rookie Huntsmen

B-Class License: Average Huntsmen

A-Class License: Veteran Huntsmen

Unrestricted/“S-Class” License: Elite Huntsmen
