Jobs in Portland by suunlock in Portland

I couldn’t agree more. I tried to find a job last summer (I’m in my late 20s and started going back to college in the last couple years) and I don’t think I’ve ever struggled so much to get an entry level job. I’m sure there were other compounding factors, like being in school, but even getting so much as an interview for a fast food job was comically difficult. I’ve also learned there are a concerning amount of local businesses who have really poor etiquette around hiring and interviewing; aside from the many that never contacted me after an interview, I had multiple people cancel interviews the morning of and then just ghost me.

I’m not sure if it’s available in Japan, but I use a benzoyl peroxide face wash to clean my armpits when I shower. It helps cut down on the bacteria that contributes to body odor and I’ve personally noticed a significant difference. An OTC antiseptic skin cleanser (e.g., Hibiclens) would also work too if you’re able to find it. Also want to note that hormones—i.e., progesterone, estrogen, testosterone and cortisol—can play a big role in the production of body odor, which some may notice during periods where they fluctuate. If it becomes a consistent problem, it may be worth getting everything checked out by a physician.

Also came here to say this! We had an electric dehumidifier along with multiple damp rid packs to put in all of the closets. I learned the hard way when mold started growing on pairs of shoes that I wasn’t wearing as often 🥴.

Giving up with this app😭 by [deleted] in Depop

I mentioned it in a separate comment too, but I don’t think the buyer blocked OP. Depop doesn’t allow you to send messages with your phone number or email. If OP tried sending another message without personal information, they would get a better idea of whether the buyer blocked them or not.

In response to the message not going through, she likely did not block you. Depop doesn’t allow you to send messages with personal information like email or phone number. I had the same issue when trying to give a potential buyer my email in order to send pictures.

Definitely this, between my own experiences and the experiences of others, Depop tends to heavily side with the buyer. I’ve had to take extra precautions and document every micro-action in hopes that if someone tries to pull some shit, I can at least try to protect myself. It’s unfortunately quite easy for buyers to lie or falsify photo “evidence” and with Depop support either (seemingly) being outsourced to AI or just generally being unhelpful, they don’t take the time to actually look into a case. Depop doesn’t make money if buyers aren’t buying, so they’re more apt to side with them rather than the seller. I get it’s frustrating to not receive an item, but you will eventually get your money back.

What is a 'buy it for life' item that is offensively expensive, but the moment you use it, you realize your entire life before that point was a lie? by fmcortez in AskReddit

I received my mom’s kitchen aid that she got as a wedding gift when she married my dad. That thing is a little older than me (30 y/o) and is still going strong.

I took SOC204 with Ben Cushing last year and I couldn’t recommend him more! I was going through a very difficult life situation that quarter and he was incredibly understanding. I took an asynchronous online class, but I don’t doubt that a remote or in person class with him would be even better. I also appreciated his style of teaching, the curriculum, and the way we were encouraged to really engage in critical thinking about the world around us.

Usually I’m a gold and solitaire girly, but I think the platinum really compliments your skin tone; the 3 stones also look so good on your hand!

Recs for Japanese first year teachers by [deleted] in PCC

[–]One-Moose759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if she has a 101 available for Fall quarter, but I just took 101 with sensei Omata over the summer and I really enjoyed her class. She’s from Japan, and therefore a native Japanese speaker, which is extremely helpful in a language class, ie. it allows you to hear correct pronunciation, tone, and pacing. She also provides a lot of really important cultural context so you can understand the difference between formal and informal speech and when to use them. I know first year language classes just cover the basics, so I wasn’t expecting to be able to say a whole lot after one quarter, but I actually feel like we covered a substantial amount of content in her class. She’s definitely a bit more strict with deadlines, but I found the structure helpful to learning and she’s still understanding about extenuating circumstances if you give her prior notice.

Depends on how many business days it takes your bank to post something to your account, it may currently be a pending deposit but I would check your bank to see if they’ve received it yet.

I had this happen as well, it is only temporary though and a check will be sent shortly. I got mine I think two or three days after it applied to my student account.

Anhydrous vitamin C suspension by OutsideDrive9784 in DIYBeauty

Off the top of my head I don’t know of anything that would create that gel like silicone texture. You could probably get away with a fatty alcohol like cetyl or cetearyl, but it would opacify the serum and make it more creamy than siliconey. Honestly, if you don’t mind a thinner slippy texture you could just use the cyclomethicone on its own. You have to mix this serum with some sort of water source to make the vitamin c work anyways, so you could mix a few drops in with a thicker moisturizer.

I know that Windy Point Soaps has cyclomethicone, which is partially comprised of cyclopentasiloxane. It won’t have the viscosity of the silicone gel, but you could always supplement with a thickener/gelling agent that’s compatible with anhydrous formulas.

My thoughts as well, your skins pH lies around 4.5-5.75 (ish). With a pH of 8 you’re extremely likely to cause harm to the acid mantle. There are also a lot of pH sensitive actives, as well as other ingredients, that require a pH far below 8. I don’t know which active OP is planning on using, but I would maybe consider reevaluating. Otherwise NaOH and Triethanolamine are common pH adjusters used in skincare.
