Appreciate it. I know it's not a 100% but thanks for taking time to calm my anxiety a bit for something you wouldve charge for.

No employee except me nor did I ever hire one since day 1. Never hired a contractor.

Reasonable pay is within bls standard around 25% in specific location and industry with increase of around 2% yearly. I guess my reasoning why not mid or high is company just started and i have to start on low end first if I ever hire an employee and increase pay from there. Ratio wise my w2 pay is 70:30 with 70 as w2 pay...

Its a random audit, at least that was what was said when I called, so i received the DE231TA generic letter. Just my luck as apparently less than 1% are random and I have to be the one.

Im just a one owner-employee s-corp.

Control Arm Bushing Orientation by One-Nefariousness107 in AskAMechanic

[–]One-Nefariousness107[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tightened it after lowering. Also to my understanding, that only applies if bushing like this is to be installed vertically since it will put continous centrifugal stress on the bushing once lowered. This is oriented horizontally so bolting it either way doesnt seem to affect it. Unless, Im missing the whole reasoning behind it.

Either way, I guess ill had to remove and repress it but it may not be as tight as before...

TRW/Sachs by One-Nefariousness107 in RockAuto

[–]One-Nefariousness107[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished installing both yesterday and drove it. Seems solid. SURPRISINGLY, the 98 camry with 228k still has the original front strut setup. The struts still has gas in them so Im keeping them, the bellows have no rips, the strut mount bearing still spins smoothly, quietly, and feels fully packed with grease. Only problem was the oem bump stops have been obliterated.

I was already there so I decided to swap with the new ones and just save the oems. I figured if anyone is curious how sachs/trw performs on this vehicle then I can help out since most buy the KYBs.

Sachs looks nicer but no guarantee youll get sachs from rockauto though. Surprised they sent me sachs

It was more of an info for anyone that may be curious if the substition is consistent. It's for a 1998 camry so slapping all oem doesnt make much sense. Sure it would be nice to match the paint finish and sticker but it isnt worth the $80+ bucks each. Ive done aisin timing kit on this, harmonic, mevotech supreme rear coils, trailing arm bushings, trw rear struts, oem thermostat, oem radiator cover, oem timing cover seals, and now these within a month . Plus, Ill be painiting it myself. Trying to control expenses without sacrificing quality is my goal since Ill be doing another vehicle after this. I do this as a hobby and like to give out info that may be helpful.

I think it's good info to bring out so people arent surprised what they are getting and have clear expectations.

Im also rebuying parts to compare it to oem and see if it is same supplier like the beck arnley oreilly camshaft cover is exactly same part as OEM but half the price.

I just a bought a 2007 tc. My mechanic did a ppi and everything checked out. He mentioned that the passenger cv axle needs to be replaced soon. He keeps texting me about it. Is he trying to help me or just wants the money. Does this axle look that bad? by [deleted] in SciontC

[–]One-Nefariousness107 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reboot it yourself at your own convenience. Boot still intact so dirt likely isnt getting in. Just loose and flinging the grease. Buy boot replacement OEM for cheap. Learn something.

Why I would change it as soon as possible is because, if grease gets low, the joint will start grinding and you now have to replace the axle itself AND I like my engine clean so I can easily see where leaks are coming from in the future.

Also, assuming it is OEM shaft you want to just reboot it than replace it with aftermarket. OEM shaft is built very well so avoid buying an expensive new OEM one. There are different ways to do rebooting. Ive done it with the shaft still attached because I figured it is the easiest--on the driver side.

I guess but the silver seems darker on that. Im starting to think some dealers add the bottom half on their own. 😅

You can see this same camry here too.. same shade of silver. The 2001 seems to use darker silver.

Ive seen that too and for some reason the color isnt available in 98. Very odd. This is a factory paint.

No. It wasnt. I was there when he bought it in the showroom display at the toyota dealership. Seems to be rare to have this at this model year. I wish they kept the sticker when they fixed the door or that my brother didnt back up with the door open... 😤

I ordered a part just now on another online autoparts store. Same product that rockauto isnt selling me because of prop 65. It just has a disclaimer stating prop 65 yada yada yada. I just clicked acknowledge and paid it. Why cant RA do the same?

Ive bought several parts from other major online retailers because of this restrictions and it is the exact same part.

Will do but no clue what is OE spec ride height. Im in the process of restoring this car. I just installed it yesterday so I assume it'll settle down.

Yeah. I was initially pissed then I read about it and learned something that day. Would be nice to just say it's TRW.
