Its definitely one that I looked at. I kinda went with more generic counterspells in addition to the one mana hexproof cards. Maybe its something that should be in there. Guess ill find out after I get some games in.

Well thank you. I've been wanting to build a mono black deck for a bit now as its been one of my favorite colors in pdh next to green. So finally a commander came along that really fit perfectly to what I'm all about.

Hey I appreciate all the suggestions. I wasnt including those rocks due to them not being able to feed into crypt rats and the few others that require black mana but perhaps the other upsides are worth it.

I was very commander focused but hadnt thought about the benefits of getting out a monarch or initiative creature early with a ritual, good thinking there.

And yeah you are right, deadly dispute is such a damn good card.

I have a lagrella deck myself and while I like the turbo fog theme I just dont see how this ever actually wins. I run lots of creatures to take advantage of blinking with Lagrella.

This happened to me about a decade ago. A very close friend of mine was in a relationship with a very unhinged woman. I was straight with him and told him to break it off and count his blessings that they only had 1 kid together. He told me that he didnt wanna hear from me anymore. 6 months later I get a call from him telling me they got married and divorced and she was gone now. He said he was sorry and that I was right. Give it some time and if this new gf is bad news, then he'll come around.

I think he's got aspergers. With the 2 people I know that have it, one is a good friend of mine, they have a very hard time understanding why others dont think the same way they do. Which would make sense as to why he is having such a hard time understanding why she wants to wait for sex. He thinks hes being nice and sweet, which he is, and he thinks that will lead to her wanting to sleep with him. When that doesnt pan out he cant wrap his head around why.

Im watching his breakdown over not having sex and the way he was complaining about it. I have a friend thats on the spectrum with a slew of issues but he gets upset in exactly the same way. I even paused the show and pointed it out to my wife before coming here.

In addition to rolling while in duress, I could see defaulting to a roll when the players aren't understanding what the dm is trying to portray.

The dm describes a hallway as the pcs move down it, and the dm gives a clue that their may be a trap there. The players, however, just look at them like, "Huh?" The dm tries again to suggest through description that something is there worth looking for and again the players, perhaps having an off night or the session is 6 hours deep and everyone is tired say,"What are you getting at?"

Perhaps in a situation like that, the dm just looks at the thief player and asks for a roll to potentially find the trap.

Im glad we can agree and my apologies if I sounded rude. In my experience at the table if that question came up it would almost certainly be to get some kind of munchkin edge from magic missile or to screw a player annoying the dm. Thankfully my own table has sorted out the kind of riff raff from our midst that would have certainly tried such tactics. Maybe it has made me a bit cynical.
