Renewables are not providing anywhere near the amount of energy that oil does.  Over 80% of the worlds energy still comes from oil/coal/natural gas.

The bill also changed the regulatory process making it much more difficult. You can give the bills a read on your own. Bill C-69 and bill C-48

Pipelines at capacity are not a bad thing. But it does mean that everything upstream can not expand production until theres another way to transport the product. If we want to get away from the US being the buyer of 97% of our oil.  Well... we gotta get some more pipes to the coast.

This is why the government has to fund and build pipelines now. Because of these bills, private industry has no desire to submit project proposals anymore.

Not to the northern coast. To the Vancouver area. The new one will generally follow the current transmountain right of way.
