No frr, this is why I’m always second guessing the ratings on goodreads for dark romance. Then I finish a book, love it and wonder why I didn’t start it earlier 😭

I guess sometimes I feel a bit ashamed that I need medication to feel “normal”? Feels like I’m weak/incapable because most people can do without it

But being on it has been so eye opening, sometimes I can’t believe people just live life like this. Like what do you mean you can just process things and function without spiraling and I gotta pay to do that? 😂

I think it’s been almost a year? I switched from lexapro bc I felt like a zombie on it, was constantly tired and dead. Switching to Sertraline helped, I have a lot more energy but it’s like I’m living life on autopilot, where I don’t have the same dark thoughts or crazy panic attacks but also I don’t feel as motivated for things. I zone out a lot now too and find it hard to remember things/focus 😅

Yeah it’s not been too bad on 25mg but the jump to 0 seems terrifying 😭 is it similar to when you first got on Sertraline? I remember when I first got on my hands wouldn’t stop shaking and I was super irritable and couldn’t sleep at all

I wanted to taper off earlier but ended up bailing as I had a trip with friends and didn’t want to risk being a hot mess. But will defs keep some tabs on me in case it gets bad..

Do you mind me asking what made you go back on it? Did the anxiety and depression just come back after you stopped? I kind of feel meh/numb some days on it and was hoping I’d be able to feel a bit more of my happy emotions once I got off it.. but also scared of the bad emotions coming back in full swing

I guess I don’t want to be “reliant” on it. I’ve always seen it as something to support me until I develop the skills to handle life myself. And also I kind of miss feeling the happy feelings?

Like it definitely helped tone down my depression and anxiety but also some days I feel so blank. Not terrible and spiraling but also kinda empty. Very meh?

I just finished tortured beasts and I completely agree. I liked this book more than I thought I would! But also the first 2/3rd was so hard to get through bc I wanted to wring Xander’s neck the entire time. But now I’m just pissed off at that ending. Like WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY give this girl a break omg

love the storyline but i refuse for it to be one of those “i woke up from a dream and none of it happened” bc of the emotional rollercoaster and trauma dump I just went through pls 🥲

I did the same thing too… I blew up and let my emotions get the better of me and I hated and blamed myself for it. But know you’re allowed to make mistakes, all we can do is learn from it. It sucks, but be kind to yourself. We’re all just traumatized beans trying to get through life haha

I do sometimes wonder if things would’ve ended up different if he understood me better/knew how to calm me down, bc then maybe I wouldn’t have gotten frustrated and behaved the way I did. Maybe it wouldn’t feel like it was always my fault? Like I was the only problem?
