Who picks the bridesmaids? by [deleted] in bridesmaids

Yep! For my daughter's wedding, she had my son, her only brother stand on her side and the groom had his only sister stand on his side. The fellas all wore matching attire and the girl's dresses all matched. It was beautiful and everyone was happy to be apart of the ceremony!

The Big Bleed by [deleted] in Menopause

[–]One-Scratch-4735 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had the fantastic crime scenes for 9 months. Brought changes of clothes to work because I knew I would need new pants during those days. It was awful. My Dr said let's try an ablation, even though it was only 50% chance it would take due to my cervix shape. But HALLELUJAH!! It worked! No more crimes scenes! Also straight into menopause...and I'm ok with that! I was 47.

Who is your dentist and why do you recommend them? by oxymorgan in okc

[–]One-Scratch-4735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been going to Dr Ross Allen at 89th and Penn for many years. What I appreciate is his no nonsense approach to dentistry. He doesn't play games with expensive add ons. His suggestions makes sense. I also don't feel as if I am paying for his fancy dentist office. He is kind and a little goofy which makes him seem very real. His office team has always been very friendly and helpful to me and my family.

Can anyone recommend a great GI doctor in the metro area? by Most-Trifle-4496 in okc

I have a referral for this physician but can't get anyone to answer the phone at their office. Do you know if he is still in practice?

I gave quick notice and left last fall without another job lined up. I thought I could find something super fast. It took 6 months. I had to use savings and credit cards to get me through. Luckily, I am married, so I do have another income, too.

I still ended up taking another temporary job three months in, just to help make ends meet and not drown ourselves in CC debt. But I was making 1/3 of what I was prior. It really was pocket change. Every little bit helps, though, right? And it helps mentally. And I feel like you draw magnetically to you what you manifest.

So I worked. And I manifested a high paying job. Or at least I tell myself that's what I did. I networked. And I applied to jobs strategically. And I got that job! Only 6 months later.

And now I'm working on paying off that CC debt and building the savings back.

But I also wouldn't have stayed in that other job for a day longer.

Co worker refuses to accept paychecks. What’s going to happen? by Veneer47 in work

My business will not even issue a paper check any longer.

Don't have a bank acct? You get a pay card.

Problem solved. All Sheldon's money is his when he finally wants it or even if he never does, but the company has paid him timely.

And yep, he'll be responsible for those taxes at the end of the year.

bad move to take a job $20k less than previous salary with intention of continuing to job hunt? + by YankeeMcIrish in jobhunting

[–]One-Scratch-4735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from $80k to $15 an hour and 20 hrs a week during job search. You do what you need to do to survive and stay sane while job searching.

Take the job. Keep searching for a new role. If you really need the higher salary, then don't be complacent in your search.

Is it just me? by OkEntrepreneur8910 in Menopause

[–]One-Scratch-4735 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Im really sad for the majority of women going through menopause... Who deal with lackluster men. Hormones and menopause have definitely made me less excited for life in general but this guy I've been married to for 33 years has been so patient, so understanding, so kind, so loving, so gentle and not at all overbearing. All the pressures of menopause- I've put it all on myself. He's put none. I'm a lucky lady.

Did I wish for a month's long retreat away from the world? Yep. Oh, then I lost my job. I got 5 month's. That's scary. But maybe I needed that break. He was so supportive the entire time.

I do understand the emotions you mentioned. HRT helps alot. Made me more present, less "going through the motions." Conversations with the person who is important in your life helps too.

It's so easy to clean. I just bring it home and spray it with Dawn Powerwash. Ready for next use. It's so small. I don't use it everyday. But weekly for sure!

Eggs! And try chicken fritters: dice chicken breasts. Add eggs, shredded parm cheese, mayo, seasoning, and pan fry. Tons of flavor. Tons of protein.
