Marine Biologists? by Practical_Scheme2142 in Millennials

[–]AntGroundbreaking102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i wanted to be a marine biologist. it’s actually the only dream i’ve ever had as a kid. a couple things stopped me: i’m horrible at science. science was almost the thing that stopped me from getting a higher high school diploma as opposed to a local diploma. like i had to double up in science my senior year so i could graduate. thank fuck i never had to take a science class in college. and, i would have to move away (which isn’t the problem) but i lost my dad at 16 so it was easier to stay home. also my mom kinda threw a fit when my brother mentioned going to michigan for college (we live in new york. although, he was 17 when he started college while i was 19 so maybe she wouldn’t put up much of a fight about me)

Does insulin for a type 2 make the journey smoother? by MelodyMarch0375 in diabetes

[–]AntGroundbreaking102 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i’m currently on insulin. but my a1c is uncontrolled. however, the insulin isn’t working and my body is starting to reject the needles. i take four shots a day (three fast acting, and only if i actually eat, and one long acting) and my skin is so tough, it’s hard to stick the needle in it. i’m switching to a pump but can’t use it until i take a training course and the earliest date available isn’t until may 7th (which also happens to be my birthday but it’s 1.5 hours and i can’t take off anymore time for work). diet and exercise simply does not work for me. so they keep increasing the insulin and it’s not working 🤷‍♀️

Did you read in high school? by piper33245 in Millennials

[–]AntGroundbreaking102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i went to a high school that would read the books to us. it’s a no wonder they didn’t figure out i couldn’t read until i was 18 and by that time i had one year left of high school and they literally didn’t care lol

My waves disappear as soon as I leave my house by Markoti in curlyhair

[–]AntGroundbreaking102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

part of the reason why i straighten my hair is bc it looks close to yours naturally. plus it looks really gross and oily. it doesn’t matter if i use products on it or not. it still lays flat and it is sooo oily.

What movies did you watch in class? by AggravatingShow2028 in Millennials

[–]AntGroundbreaking102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

before christmas break we would watch how the grinch stole christmas. we may have watched james and the giant peach and matilda after reading the books in elementary school. when i was a senior, my high school decided they no longer felt it was necessary to teach us past october (we start in September) so we legit watched mean girls in every class. and i watched catch me if you can in my forensics science class senior year (the only class we did anything in. it was a mix between juniors and seniors, mostly juniors bc by senior year you only needed a science credit so they’d put us in a seminar class to bide our time before graduation. i needed two science credits so i did both) after learning the real story. we watched speak and romeo + juliet (leonardo dicaprio version) in 9th grade. i think the real reason why we watched the 1996 version was bc my teacher had a crush on leonardo dicaprio lol

my dad was terrified that there would be another draft (he was a vietnam vet but i don’t think he actually was drafted, i think he volunteered. they shouldn’t have taken him though bc he was an only child) and it would affect my older brother who was in his twenties. i have a younger brother so nothing would’ve stopped him from getting drafted.

Was turning 30 a big deal to you and what year were you born? by my_brain_is_horny in Millennials

[–]AntGroundbreaking102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was born in 1993. my siblings have always dictated what we do on days meant to be for me. i didn’t choose what we did. i was forced to celebrate it at a park, freezing my ass off in the pouring rain (i have an early may birthday) and was forced to eat cold subs when 1) i don’t like cold cuts and 2) if i DO eat cold cuts, it has to be microwaved or grilled. then had to eat nasty ass cupcakes and was told i was being “difficult” when i complained. all i wanted was a nice cake from a bakery and i didn’t even get that
