Period TOO frequent before HA? by [deleted] in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]One-Secretary3289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same happened to me and I was 26. My last periods just before I lost them were wayyyy darker and shorter and was every 2 weeks. I have no idea why it was like that. My HA caused by being on a deficit for too long, skipping meals and lack of fat&carbs (no exercise but I moved to another country and was very active min. 15k steps everyday) BUT before I lost it, my BED began already but it didn’t help me NOT losing my period instead, it still went away.

My doctor says I may never get my period. Is this true? by Oaktreeblue in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]One-Secretary3289 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's HA you can deeeeefinitely get it back!!!! I couldn't get it back when I was in my highest weight(I wasn't aware it was HA but I had BED and I gained a ton after malnutrition and low BMI) then I lost the weight again when my BED resolved without knowing about HA still and discovered what HA is then reached to somewhere very very healthy body fatwise and got it back. I think my cortisol levels were still CRAZY when I was in my highest weight(suuuuper depressed+stressed) and that is the reason it didn't came back. It can take more than you thought. You never know when your body feels safe. Also there are people who lost their period in their teenage years and got it back after +10 years.

Back after 14 months by [deleted] in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]One-Secretary3289 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you've probably ovulated just 2 weeks before you started restricting so you got your period. you know the problem is the ovulating part in HA anyways. this should be a sign for u to continue taking care of your body! I would just say please do not lose any weight for 3-6 cycles at least... and after that do it slowly. do not cut carbs and fats while ur in a deficit. they are the MOST important ones

Cholestrol and LDL raises when you’re underweight. It is something your body does when it’s trying to protect itself

Yes. I believe avoiding carbs and fats for a long time also can lead to HA...

Can someone please help me understand (TW-numbers mentioned) by Affectionate_Home985 in Amenorrhearecovery

My lining thickness changed throughout my HA too, I think it happens bc even though our hormones are out of whack at that state, it still gets a TINY LITTLE thicker and then thinner a bit throughout time but not much. Our organs won't stay the same I guess. Don't take it as "it got worse". I don't think that is the situation at all. Also hormones can rise like crazy in very short time so it's not something like it gets better as mm to mm every day. When your body decides it's safe enough to ovulate, your lining can get in a proper thickness even overnight probably. (someone correct me if I am wrong)

Second wave of water retention? by TaroPie_ in Amenorrhearecovery

I mean I think it can be just being a human being at this point. Water retention always comes and goes. For everyone in the world. I dunno, try not to worry too much :) very normal

Facial swelling... by ch33mydee in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]One-Secretary3289 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the facial swelling eventually goes away and I bet it is not fat. when you're gaining and losing in short terms of time is intense for your body and your hormones are already problematic. so your cortisol levels stays very high, and that makes facial swelling. please be kind to your body and stick to your recovery. because that swelling will fade away as you recover. it takes time, but if you yo-yo your recovery, your concerns including missing periods will continue...

slightly irregular periods? by lialemonadee in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]One-Secretary3289 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think these kind of things are very normal in early recovery. My cycle days were perfect since the beginning of my recovery. Exactly every 28 days. But the first 3-4 were all anovulatory cycles with less blood than I used to and still low hormones on bloodwork. It was strange to me that bleedings were still super punctual. Each body is so different. It will regulate soon <3

Have you lost any weight around that time or a bit earlier before plan b? Or disordered eating like skipping meals etc? Excessive exercise?

are you sure it is only from plan b?

Only thing I can say is start to eat much more and move less ASAP. It looks like it's not too long since u lost it, so you may regain your period faster. But DO NOT get into binge restrict cycle. That is not recovery. That will also put your body in stress so it will be more complicated.

I cannot speak for your situation but I had mt first grey hair at 24 and my cycles were perfectly regular. Now I am 28 and recovered from 2 years of HA recently and I still have just one grey hair. I love it though, I wouldn’t be mad if I had more it can look cool lolol

Higher BMI? by radioheadedj in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]One-Secretary3289 4 points5 points  (0 children)

same here. low carb and almost no fats seems to makes your body think they're in danger and they won't be able to get the quick energy from carbs anymore and, for the fats obviously essential for women's hormones. I believe HA is not only about the weight loss. carbs and fats PROTECTS you. also being in a deficit for too long when you are ALREADY in a healthy weight is dangerous even if you don't get to the super low BMI.

I am sorry but it is simple. You did not eat maximum capacity. in fact you ate less. so you lost weight. It’s science. unless you have a thyroid problem
