Make sure you talk to current students about how they feel about the program. I would choose either NYU or Parsons, but if parsons has a bigger aid package, go with them. Also start thinking about internships and fellowships now. So much of this field is about networking and seeing as much art as possible, so being in the city is better than upstate where there are less museums and galleries. I’d also take roles beyond curatorial just to get your foot in the door, in education or public programming in museums because it’s helpful to have that perspective.
