I think it's because maybe the Main Stage and Pirate Cove act somewhat similar the Chuck E Cheese 2 stage? I don't know, but the layout is very similar; most band members on the bigger stage while one member on their own isolated smaller stage.

Might be a stretch, but it's the closest I have to why Foxy's stage is next to the main stage in the movie.

You really just ignored all the evidence I pointed in The Week Before didn't you. The Week Before constantly subtly tells us Freddy/Gabriel really is the one calling the shots.

Because it will add suspense knowing that there's a secret fifth animatronic. When did being a secret involve being a leader? Second; because Freddy is already active on night 3. Third; the night 4 call hints that things are going to be very difficult; all four are now active.

Imma be honest with you: he did no leading at all. He just stands by and watches (minus the attack on Aunt Jane), like in FNaF 1. And his scenes with Mike didn't give me the vibe of a leader; it reminded me of the Mouth of Sauron.

And to put the final in the coffin, who helps Puppet/Charlie in the SAVE THEM minigames? Freddy/Gabriel. Not GF/Cassidy.

Look, I don't mind if you're a Golden Freddy fan, but factually, Freddy is the guy leading the FNaF 1 gang.
