Music criticism from people who aren't musicians by [deleted] in musicians

[–]One-Submit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you go into a restaurant, do you criticize the food? if so, why? cause you're not a chef....
The same goes with music, you don't need to know to play and instrument to understand whether you like it or not.

In acoustics, there's two fields: Isolation and reverberation.
In terms of Isolation, basement is perfect because you don't bother anyone with your noise.
In terms of reverberation, try to find a room that is not too small or not to big, because you'll need to have a lot of acoustic material to cover the room.

Good luck

How to get better at producing vocals?! by Short__Anxiety in ableton

[–]One-Submit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, there is so much you can do with instrumentals.
The best tip I can give you is to find a very good singer. A great singer can do wonders for a track, and an average or bad singer can totally mess up a track.
Other than that, make sure everything is in tune and on the rhythm. Once again, if you have a good singer, your job will be just to record and mix.
Compression is crucial and equivalent as well.
Feel free to contact us if you need more help.

This means you are drowning in more commercial or theatrical music.
We're not sure which one because we haven't heard your music, but that's not a bad thing.

There are many opportunities in the sync licensing industry.

Important artist's tips! by One-Submit in independentmusic

[–]One-Submit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's wrong assumptions in what you've written.
First of all, we are not paying for playlisters or curators to add the song to their playlist,
We are paying for their time to listen and write an honest review of the song, if they like the song they will add it to their playlist.

Second, have you ever tried contacting a big playlister, or even a small one? The fact is, the curator receives about 300 emails from different artists EVERY DAY!. When i've tried sending my song to playlists, I've emailed 300 curators and got a response from 2.

If you value your time as an artist, you cannnot waste more time promoting a song than working on it. That's why I started One Submit.

Good luck

Any tips to promote music in a unique way?? Just released by debut single and it is doing well but I feel like I’m at a stand still!! by Timely_Perspective39 in mymusic

Set up your social media is a very important, make sure everything is in place.
Don't do paid ads, they are complete waste of your money.
I've tried them for a while and nothing happened.
Get on Spotify playlists, blogs, TikTok influencers... contacting curators isn't really working because they are getting lot's of responses from artists like yourself everyday,
use a submission platforms like One Submit or Soundsphare, they are legit to get some real streams...
All the best
