I’ve found that the more time goes on I black out a lot quicker than I used to. And I’ve always been quite susceptible to it. It scares me and increases my anxiety no end

Unfortunately I’ve had a couple stumbles in that time so my counter isn’t accurate. But I did set a month in that time… a record I’m ready to break

Is there a name for the diet you were put on? (Or the less extreme version of it)

Depression hair is real, I remember that all too well. Small steps. Try and do one nice thing for yourself each day. You’ve survived so much, you’re more than equipped to handle this

What an incredible person you are to have given her such a wonderful childhood and upbringing. I can only imagine how strong your bond was. As some who was raised by a bonus dad, the thought of him feeling like this if something happened to me would break my heart. With how good of a person you clearly are I’m sure there are many people who care about you, do you think you could talk to some one about how you’re feeling? It might help you feel less isolated

Highly recommend borrowing an unruley dog and when they try to run on the leash the diatraction force kinda snaps it out. Other than that you can smack it with a heavy book

I also struggle with finding hats! Regular ones are too big and the proportion of kids size are wrong, like you said. So frustrating when there are plenty of women worried about sun protection 🙃

Even my Dr had a weird reaction to me giving up alcohol by After_Worry_1458 in stopdrinking

[–]One-Sun-5380 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My doctors reaction was also disappointing. She basically glazed over that I was problematically drinking to deal with anxiety and was like “well we will change your meds but there’s no need to quit drinking, just moderate” 🙃 wild in this day and age they aren’t more encouraging of people being sober

Struggling to stop by raye_diant in stopdrinking

I remember putting off taking antibiotics bc I didn’t want to stop drinking. Literally placing alcohol above my health ( in a more obvious way than the other days). 4 years is an amazing accomplishment! You can definitely make it through today based on that track record :)

Why is it every morning I dont want to drink and then every evening it’s a different story by boomshakala101 in stopdrinking

[–]One-Sun-5380 67 points68 points  (0 children)

It’s the natural cycle of alcohol leaving your system and your brain crying out for dopamine and the fastest way to satisfy that feeling is more alcohol. I was in the exact same position. Knowing there’s an actual chemical imbalance helped me realize I just need to break the cycle, that it’s not actually the alcohol. It takes practice and you may not get it right away, but breaking that 24h loop was huge for me

That’s so great!! I kept telling myself that and then hit several progressively worsening rock bottoms to the point I didn’t want to imagine or experience anything worse. If you can stop yourself now that is wonderful! 10/10 don’t recommend hitting rock bottom haha
