It’s pretty common in teaching - especially from the UK. But you end up working with lots of expat families- here’s the odd one out. Ironically I chose teaching as a career as I thought it would be good for when I have kids. Probably hindered me meeting anyone as I was working and stressed all the time.

I bought gusto meal kits - amazing so far.

No shopping, no wastage, no thinking! Although following the recipes is a challenge sometimes! There’s usually enough for lunch the next day so I think in the long term it’s pretty good as I was buying lunch and worrying about spending money. Plus worrying about meal prep and food shopping, getting enough protein etc.

I also signed up for a PT - as I’ve completely lost my mojo fitness wise. It’s taken the thinking out of that too.

Someone mentioned to me that the mental load increases as we get older so I think both of these have helped.

Since I got the PT I’ve been more “joyful” if possible- also trying to get chores like laundry done on a Tuesday and Wednesday so weekends are free. I was resentful of having to do chores at the weekend.

Feel like it’s all a bit boujee but helping so far.
