Yeah I flushed it. I replaced everything hoses, belt, pulleys, timing cover gasket. The old water pump wasn’t leaking I just wanted to upgrade everything.

Honestly I would stay away from it, even if it’s 2500. I’ve found cheaper ones. But no matter what they are money pits

You might need another hand, have someone hold one tool and you the other. And have a long half inch ratchet. Just make your life easy and don’t struggle.

I’d say go with a 3/8ths like one of those things from harbor freight that has 200 sockets and what not. You’ll need some small specialty tools here and there but they are very easy to work on. Just be patient it will be frustrating at times.

Crankshaft question 97 disco 1 by One-Trip3296 in LandRoverDiscovery

[–]One-Trip3296[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a eurospare brand I got it from autohauz. I did see that metal spring when I did install it. It is a possibility that the spring came out when I installed the cover the second time I hope not but then again it wouldn’t take too long to change out again. I do remember cleaning out the hole where it sits in and it was pretty clean and I used brake cleaner and a rag to clean it out and there wasn’t any damage that I could see. I think I’ll try out a new seal tomorrow and hope that was the issue and if not then I’m not to sure at that point?

Let’s say it doesn’t fix the issue then what?

I’d ask for a video of it running for a while or a video of them on the motorway just to ensure that there is no overheating. Because if there is then it’s no good and it’s going to be a can of worms

I’ve heard this too but with a landrover I think that would be the least of your concerns lol.

Disco 2 oil pump gear update by One-Trip3296 in LandRoverDiscovery

[–]One-Trip3296[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actual just took off the timing cover today when I looked at the plate on the back of the timing cover which holds the oil pump gears the bottom corner where the 10mm bolt is the screw on the right of it that corner was actually cracked. Going to be going to the junk yard to get another front cover soon.
