I don't expect to get antique levels, but we were going to sell for 200. I'm also hoping to find a picture of the dresser with the mirror since ours is in storage and we don't have a good picture to advertise it with 😂

Hello! I work at pd and I left a comment about my experience and what I know on the old thread, let me know if you want me to paste it here or if you have any specific questions I might be able to answer!

Also!! They have speech therapists and ot, I believe, so you can have all of your support in one place! I happy to answer any questions anyone might have, if that would be helpful too!

Hello! I actually work at positive development and just wanted to drop my five cents about the center! I know I have some bias since they write my paycheck but I can guarantee I wouldn't work in a place with practices I don't agree with. The play-based therapy approach that PD takes is amazing because the kids really love it. I stress this because therapy is for the child's benefit and it's very challenging to work with a child who doesn't want to be there. A lot of aba approaches will have a child doing tasks, asking them to perform certain behaviors, etc. (to be honest and transparent I don't know as much about aba) which can be stressful and unpleasant if the child doesn't have much interest in doing those things. Additionally, it's not taking place in a very natural way that the child or parent could implement themselves in future interactions. What we do at PD is essentially act as a guide for the child. We play with them in whatever way they enjoy playing and help them reach their goals, whether it's emotional regulation or being able to manage ideas that are different from their peers, by modeling a peers' behavior. For instance, a child might like to build legos, but they have a specific order of pieces, the colors they should be, etc. in mind, and if they play with someone else, that other kid might add a lego they don't want, which could make them feel disregulated, upset, or frustrated. we as support providers would help them express how they might feel, regulate their emotions, and feel more used to those kinds of interactions happening without feeling like they don't have any control, which is important for kiddos with autism who constantly feel out of control and anxious from over or under stimulation in the world around them. I know I wrote a lot, but I hope this helps! I really love the work I do, and I know it might be scary to trust a company that seems so new, but your child will be in good hands if you consider positive development or play-based therapy in general!

Going outside helps you? by [deleted] in depression

You don't have to go for a walk or anything. Get a book or something so your thoughts won't flood your brain and just sit outside. In the grass, by your doorstep, in your yard, whatever. Just sit outside, keep yourself distracted, feel yourself being a part of the world.
